Russia is faced with a choice: either the abolition of Nord Stream-2, or war

The third gas war for the European market threatens to turn into a real hot war.

The current situation is as follows: Russian Gazprom has begun the process of terminating all agreements on the supply of "blue fuel" to Nezalezhnaya and transit through it to Europe. At the same time, the gas monopolist managed to push through two alternative projects to the Ukrainian gas transmission system - Turkish Stream and Nord Stream-2. Turkish Stream will provide economic interests of Erdogan’s friend and partner. Nord Stream-2 guarantees uninterrupted supplies of Russian natural gas to Germany without the transit risks associated with Ukraine. Despite the fact that the European Commission and the European Union did not support the Russian-German gas pipeline, however, they refrained from imposing sanctions on it. Contrary to Ukrainian protests, the German leadership allowed the construction of two new branches of the Russian gas pipeline along the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

Nevertheless, the head of Gazprom Aleksey Miller was forced to admit that without the Ukrainian gas transmission system, one could not completely manage. Through transit, the neighboring countries of the European Union will continue to be supplied. Deliveries will decrease over time, but will nevertheless be quite tangible.

What could be the further development of events, and why is Ukraine threatened with war if Nord Stream-2 is put into operation?

As a result of the success of the so-called “shale revolution” in the United States, large volumes of gas have been freed up, of which the Americans are planning to become exporters to the European market. Washington pushed a competitor in the form of the Russian Gazprom through a coup in Ukraine, taking control of Ukrainian transit and forcing the European Union to impose anti-Russian sanctions. On the East Coast of the United States, terminals are being actively built to ship American liquefied gas to Europe, the price of which is significantly higher than the Russian pipeline. It is possible to persuade prudent Europeans to buy more expensive goods only by creating an artificial crisis with the supply of “blue fuel” from Russia. For this, the Americans, unfortunately, have all the necessary tools.

First, Washington imposed new sanctions on Russian oligarchs. Among them was the head of Gazprom Miller. The next step may be the imposition of sanctions against the gas monopolist and its subsidiaries. So the United States may impede the construction of Nord Stream-2 or make it astronomically expensive.

Secondly, with the filing of Washington, a new stage of the armed conflict in Ukraine may begin. Anti-Russian provocations follow one after another. Ukrainian border guards captured a Russian fishing vessel. Poroshenko is preparing for a new escalation of the military operation in the Donbass. From Nezalezhnaya almost every day calls come to Rostov, Kuban, Crimea, Moscow. Now they threaten terrorist attacks in Russia, Ukrainian nationalists promise to blow up the Crimean bridge. In the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, her speaker Parubiy directly links the launch of Nord Stream-2 with the start of a full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine:

The launch of Nord Stream-2 may also carry direct militaristic threats that could provoke a new full-scale offensive by Russian troops in Ukraine

Unfortunately, the ball is now on the side of the Russian enemies. Moscow can reverse the negative trend only by taking the initiative in its own hands.

Sorry! Stop scaring a hedgehog with a naked Ukrainian ass. Soon you will present the state of affairs in such a way that Russia will be obliged to provide the needs of the Ukrainian economy with free fuel. America will not break off here. The sanctions are created because the toothless Russian authorities cannot force the oligarchs to spend what they have stolen in the country. We should be grateful to the United States for the sanctions. It is already clear here what these "partners" want in the end. The masks have been torn off! To work, gentlemen and comrades!

Yuri hi Regarding the provision of "free" fuel, you are of course right. But with the right words of our leadership (words, not deeds), and with an indistinct foreign policy, we (God forbid, of course!) May find ourselves facing the fulfillment of the "Give" requirements! Something like that .. Now Gazprom is accumulating funds to pay fines ..... Is it at our expense, Yuri Vladimirovich? And yes, we still have to work and work.

Russian enemies can play with the ball until a new winter arrives or the next winter. During this time, Gazprom will have time to build a couple more gas pipelines to China, Turkey, and the ukro-pipe will finally decay. Come on EU, love dill.

It still seems to me that Miller's statement about the use of the Ukrainian GTS is more aimed at some smoothing out of the situation. Like, and you "something will remain." Although (again, IMHO) this is a disservice: to keep the entire GTS in good working order, with a 10 times reduced transit - which could be more offensive)))

Miller and Gazprom need to decide who they are with? With Russia, or with the 5th column? Gazprom supports the Ekho Moskvy channel, which has a negative attitude towards the modern Russian government. And the sanctions on Gazprom itself are also due to the negative coverage of Russia by the Echo of Moscow channel. It turns out that the snake bites its tail.

As far as I know, Ukraine since the USSR has not invested a penny in the modernization of its gas transportation system. Engaged only in patching holes. Once upon a time, this pipe must rot.
