Work on the newest Russian manned spacecraft Federation has passed into the stage of practical implementation. The report says that the Experimental Engineering Plant of RSC Energia named after S.P. Koroleva made an order to the Arkonik SMZ enterprise (Samara) for the manufacture of an aluminum hull for the future manned vehicle. Later, this information was confirmed in the press service of the contractor.
In addition, active work to create a new transport ship was announced at Roskosmos. The state corporation plans to complete the development of the apparatus for the test launch of the Soyuz-5 rocket, which should be carried out in 2023.

So, the company proposed to name future spacecraft by the names of the first Russian ships that were built by Peter the Great.
