Germany is forced to begin its "turn to the East"

2
Aggressive external policy Donald Trump and his slogan “America First” are increasingly pushing their traditional allies away from the US. Either the head of the White House has confused vassal relations with the allies, or the Europeans are no longer ready to accept Washington as their overlord. It is hard not to notice the apparent discord between the United States of America and the leading EU power, Germany.

The actions of President Trump are constantly "annoying" the Europeans. Thus, the head of the White House strengthened the regime of anti-Russian sanctions, which is also required from the European Union, which negatively affects his the economy. Donald Trump came out of the Paris climate agreement, which, in his opinion, restrained the development of the American economy, leaving it to others. He introduced increased duties on aluminum and steel, which is disadvantageous to European companies, especially German ones.

The President of the United States requires Chancellor Merkel to abandon the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline jointly with Russia. So the inhabitant of the Oval Office lobbies the interests of their gas producers and industrialists, making Germany less competitive. Germany is vitally interested in increasing the supply of “blue fuel”, to which it is switching over, refusing coal and nuclear energy. Donald Trump requires European NATO allies to increase military spending on the alliance, promoting the interests of American gunsmiths.

But the last straw was the situation around Iran. Europe needs the Islamic Republic as a market and source of hydrocarbons. Trump unilaterally withdrew from the “nuclear deal” and imposed new sanctions against Tehran, as well as threatened with secondary sanctions against those who would risk dealing with Iranians. Trump’s policy clearly does not draw on good allied relations with the EU with respect for the interests of Europeans.

Moreover, with the filing of Israel, the United States of America sent an aircraft carrier strike group equipped with bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons to the shores of the Islamic Republic. President Trump announced his readiness to further strengthen it. This is due, apparently, to Iran’s attempt to break the American blockade and go directly to the Mediterranean Sea, having acquired its own base in Syrian Latakia. For this, Tehran needs an alliance with Baghdad and Damascus. This is well understood in Washington, and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo unexpectedly for many appeared in the capital of Iraq, through whose territory the railway from Iran to Syria should pass. Pompeo said Tehran poses a growing regional threat and called for a rally.

All this was very disliked in Berlin. The fact is that Pompeo pointedly preferred a visit to Baghdad to a meeting with the German Chancellor. Suddeutsche Zeitung spoke very eloquently about what they think in Germany about the actions of the "American allies":

There is rudeness in the world of diplomacy. This, for example, refusal to participate in important international meetings as Minister of Foreign Affairs or too long negotiations during the first visit to partners. And there is arrogance. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo canceled a trip to Berlin a few hours before meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and talking with his German counterpart Heiko Maas.

Of course, everything that happens should not be attributed only to the "rudeness" or "impudence" of Trump. There is a radical demolition of the world order system with the collapse of the globalist project. The United States pulls the blanket hard. In the same Germany they already realized that their yesterday’s ally and patron became a direct competitor. New alliances and unusual configurations are needed.

It seems that in Berlin, they are gradually starting their own "turn to the East." It is about cooperation with Russia and China. Despite the sanctions, trade between the Federal Republic of Germany and the Russian Federation has grown in recent years; German car assembly plants are opening. Following the Nord Stream-2, despite all the problems around it, they are talking about subsequent similar projects. Great interest in Berlin is also shown in Chinese investments, which are capable of replacing the gone American.

A New Silk Road is being built between Europe and Asia, since the PRC needs the Old World to market its products, and Russia will become an important part of it.

“The union of Russia and Germany, which can put an end to the global domination of the Anglo-Saxon Pole - Great Britain and the USA - is a classic of geopolitics. Since geopolitics was invented by the British, English, and then American experts, politicians and diplomats did everything possible to prevent the alliance between Russia and Germany. They are doing it now, when we are on the verge of World War III. ”

But there is a nuance. To date, Germany cannot send Washington far. This is just dangerous. The situation will change after the start of gas pipelines. By and large, we are talking about the withdrawal of Germany from the status of an occupied country.
