Hood is not a hindrance: Range Rover got an unusual camera

It would be nice to have an overview of the part of the road that is “hidden” from our eyes under the hood of the car. Especially if the route runs over rough terrain with numerous bumps and bumps. Apparently this thought occurred to the Land Rover designers, who equipped their new Range Rover Evoque SUV with a revolutionary by technology called Clear Sight Ground View.

The system is a set of additional hardware sensors and software that allow the driver to view the previously inaccessible part of the road that is hidden under the hood. In addition, you see even the front wheels of your car, which will allow you to easily go around any pothole.

The image comes from the cameras with which the side mirrors and the front grill are equipped. When driving at speeds up to 30 km / h, the latter provide visibility in the 180 ° sector.

Clear Sight Ground View collects information from all sensors online, complementing it with video broadcasting coming from cameras on the side mirrors. The final picture is displayed on the touch screen on the dashboard, providing the driver with the so-called "full visibility zone".
