Turkey has confirmed its intention to find a replacement for the F-35 in another country
Since Turkey wanted to acquire Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM), the United States has been harassing its main NATO partner in the Middle East region. Washington repeatedly asked and even persuaded Ankara "not to make a mistake", after which he switched to traditional threats, intimidation, blackmail and brutal pressure.
One of the U.S. threats was a possible refusal to supply F-35 fighter jets to Turkey. Moreover, the Turks ordered immediately 100 of these expensive fifth-generation aircraft, which is very beneficial for the Americans, due to the refusal to purchase F-35 from a number of European partners. Now Ankara has only two F-35s, but further deliveries are a big question, since the Pentagon has “frozen” supplies.
However, Turkey does not want to be held hostage by the situation and risk its defense capabilities. In addition, the rearmament of the army has begun, the money has been allocated and the warlike Turks are very disliked when they communicate with them from a position of strength. In any case, Ankara will change obsolete weapons to new ones, whether Washington wants it or not. And if the US continues to push, then Ankara can buy not only Russian air defense systems.
For example, the head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Mevlut Cavusoglu, has already stated that Ankara is buying air defense systems from Moscow, because there is an urgent need. At the same time, he clarified that in the event of a US refusal to supply F-35 fighters, the aircraft needs will be satisfied by purchasing from another country. Washington is now "digesting" this harsh statement, not yet recovering from previous.
- stated the Turkish Foreign Minister, emphasizing that his country acts in its own interests, but is extremely open in relation to both Moscow and Washington.
At the same time, Cavusoglu clarified that Washington will not be able to “push” Ankara out of NATO, since all decisions there are made by a common vote. In addition, he recalled the words of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that each of the countries of the Alliance has the right to provide for its needs as it sees fit.
It should be added that shortly before this, the Turkish Ministry of Defense reported that the fifth-generation Russian fighter Su-57 could be a good replacement for the F-35 if the Americans squeezed them out of the “world plane” program. However, it was not specified whether Russia was ready to sell the Su-57 and whether this issue was discussed at all with it. After all, Russia must first take care of its air forces, “saturate” them, and only then think about export, and even with the transfer of some technology.

We are already partners in the F-35 production program, we participate in this project, and paid the necessary amount for this. There are no problems on this issue. But in the worst case scenario, we will have to provide this our need elsewhere - where the best Technology
