"Russians are up to something in the South Atlantic"

The Yantar oceanographic research vessel, owned by the Russian Navy, assisted in the search for the Argentinean submarine San Juan, which disappeared last November in the South Atlantic. His appearance in the area caused a real panic in the United States. Americans pay attention that the Russian ship runs in an area where submarine cables are laid along the ocean floor.

In the USA, fears are actively voiced that Russians may either intentionally damage the cable, or connect to it for listening.

Missing San Juan

On November 15, 2017, the Argentinean diesel electric submarine San Juan with a crew of 44 people disappeared in the waters of the South Atlantic. An explosion was recorded in the area. According to experts, he was powerful and completely destroyed the boat. Everything happened in a split second, so the sailors did not even have time to understand anything and died instantly.

Already 15 days after the accident, the Argentine authorities announced the cessation of the rescue operation. There was no hope that anyone had survived. But the search continued, pursuing two goals. First, you need to find the remains of the ship. And secondly, it is necessary to identify the place where the crew died in order to give him military honors.

Take part in the search operation technique and experts from all over the world, including from Russia. The Russians used the Yantar oceanographic vessel to search.

The ship has on board manned and unmanned underwater vehicles capable of operating at a depth of 6 kilometers.

Is it all about cables?

When American officials and journalists wondered why the Russian ship arrived in the area, the version of the search operation was not even considered.

For some reason, the Russians are spinning near fiber-optic cables laid along the bottom. Of course, they are up to something!

The fears of Americans can be understood. Between Russia and the United States is not the warmest relationship. And in the immediate vicinity of the cables laid along the ocean floor, a Russian ship runs with equipment that allows you to do anything with them. Thousands of messages, including secret ones, pass through a cable whose thickness does not exceed the thickness of a garden hose. And daily cash transactions amount to astronomical amounts.

Theoretically, specialists from Yantar are capable of both damaging this connection and connecting to it. But practically the South Atlantic is not the most suitable region for this, the same northern part of the ocean for this, for example, is much more interesting. After all, there is a connection between the United States and Western Europe.

And on the other hand, for the next wave of anti-Russian hysteria, the reason is quite suitable.

You can organize a big scandal from anything. An example is the "case of the Skripals," inflated to an incredible size.

It is a pity that the Amber has already left the South Atlantic. Now the Americans will not be able to demand that he do this. Well, nothing, our Western partners will come up with something. And we will not be surprised at all at the possible new big anti-Russian scandal connected with the research ship "Yantar".
