Poroshenko at the debate could not adequately answer Zelensky

In Kiev, a debate took place between two candidates for the presidency of Ukraine - Petro Poroshenko and Vladimir Zelensky. Zelensky was the first to speak.

Presidential candidate Vladimir Zelensky asked the incumbent head of state why no one has yet been punished for bloodshed on Independence Square, why military officials have not been held accountable for the tragedy of the Ukrainian armed forces near Ilovaisk and Debaltseve, and how Ukrainian sailors arrested could be sent to obvious death then by Russian border guards in the Kerch Strait.

In turn, President Petro Poroshenko accused his opponent of political weaknesses. According to Poroshenko, Zelensky will be a weak head of state and will not be able to resist the return of Ukraine to the “Russian Empire”. At the same time, the incumbent president refrained from insulting Zelensky and accusing him of collaborating with Moscow.

I believe that Mr. Vladimir does not want to surrender Ukraine; I believe that Mr. Vladimir has no dream of dragging Ukraine back into the Russian Empire. But Putin has such a dream

- emphasized Poroshenko.

However, Poroshenko did not forget to note that if Zelensky wins, there is a great risk of the return of the associates of former President Viktor Yanukovych and former Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, as well as agents of Russian influence.

The incumbent president did not forget to reproach his opponent in cooperation with the oligarch Igor Kolomoisky, who is now in very difficult relations with Petro Poroshenko.

However, all these accusations faded against the background of real questions that not only Zelensky, but all of Ukraine could ask Petro Poroshenko. After all, the years of his reign are a complete fiasco, a real disaster for the Ukrainian people. And Poroshenko did not find these questions what to answer in essence.
