There is enough simplicity for every sage: it was in this situation that the Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk found himself after today's statement by the press secretary of the Russian leader.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov slightly spoiled the image of Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the political council of the Ukrainian party Opposition Platform - For Life, who is considered a pro-Russian politician in Ukraine.

Commenting on the words of Medvedchuk that Vladimir Zelensky, if he wins the presidential election, will have to go to a “deal with Moscow” to regain control in the Donbas and get cheap gas, Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin did not see any need deals with the new president of Ukraine.

According to him, today there is a need to build normal good and mutually beneficial relations in the interests of Russians and Ukrainians, the basis for which should be mutual trust.

Dmitry Peskov noted that in the Donbass issue, Russia proceeds from the provisions of the Minsk agreements concluded earlier, however, none of the presidential candidates in Ukraine has yet confirmed their desire to follow the agreements reached. Therefore, the situation around the unrecognized republics still remains “in the gray zone”.
