Lukashenko said that the language issue in Belarus is closed

The language issue is a painful topic and serves as an occasion for speculation and destabilization of the situation in many countries.

During the annual presidential message to the people and parliament, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that he considered the language issue in Belarus closed.

According to the head of Belarus, the people "put their souls" into two languages, which today are the state languages of the republic - Belarusian and Russian.

He also noted that the Russian language is a common property of Russians and Belarusians, since these two peoples fought together and died together.

Belarusian and Russian media cite the words of the head of state:

If someone wants to lose his mind, he will lose the Russian language, if his heart is Belarusian. What do you want to lose - mind or heart?

Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that it is unacceptable to replace Russian-language signs in a country where, according to him, only 50 percent of the country's population will be able to understand what is written. Especially when it comes to places like highways.

Recall that the Russian language received the status of the state following the results of the referendum held in Belarus in 1995, when 83,3 percent of the citizens voted for it.

If someone wants to lose their mind, they will lose the Russian language

That's right, because Russian is the language of education in which textbooks on basic science are printed. Lukashenko turned out to be smarter than Nazarbayev and Poroshenko, once he understood this. This is a plus. Considering Lukashenka’s flirting with nationalists, oppositionists and the IMF, plus a temporary and opportunistic one.
