Lukashenko declared readiness to sell MAZ and BelAZ
Minsk is ready to sell the leading engineering enterprises BelAZ and MAZ. This statement was made by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during his Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly.
The leader of the country noted that the main obstacle to the implementation of such a deal is the issue of price.
Lukashenko said, clearly hinting at Russia as a “potential buyer."
The president also expressed his readiness to sell Belaruskali, which he estimated at $ 30 billion (almost 2 trillion rubles). However, for this producer of potash mineral fertilizers they offer only $ 5 billion, while the company's revenue for 2018 amounted to $ 2,5 billion, the Belarusian leader is perplexed.
Lukashenko noted that many enterprises still had a depressing situation a few years ago. Today, the same BelAZ is a highly profitable plant, the demand for its products is growing rapidly.
