Chubais: a hero or a traitor?
A few days ago on the state television channel VGTRK there was a program dedicated to Anatoly Chubais. Interviews with the infamous ideologist of privatization of state property were built most favorably towards the main character. After watching the “Actors” program on “Russia 1”, representatives of the young generation who did not hold vouchers in their hands in the nineties, hoping to buy “two Volga” on them, may get the impression that Anatoly Borisovich is an intelligent and energetic manager who helped the president Yeltsin to raise Russia from its knees, and now helps in the same and to Vladimir Putin as head of the state corporation RosNANO.
It seems that some purposeful rewriting of our recent history is already beginning. The "tricks" are used classic: defaults, distortions of facts, semantic tones. Let us recall the real achievements of the team of “young reformers”, the brightest representative of which is the unsinkable Anatoly Chubais.
Anatoly Borisovich called his Atlas Shrugged His Handbook, which is dedicated to the struggle of successful American businessmen against their own government, which began to hold policies socialist sense. Entrepreneurs, whom the author compares with Atlanta, lose, close their business and disappear. Critics called the novel of the writer Rand propaganda, justifying the ideas of social Darwinism and unregulated capitalism.
Unfortunately, in reality everything happened the other way around, and Anatoly Borisovich took revenge for his beloved literary Atlantes to the best of his ability. Here is a quote from his 2001 interview on the privatization of state property created in the USSR:
Chubais further explains that privatization in our country until the year 97 was essentially not an economic, but a political process:
Well, the "reformers" have achieved. Was destroyed economic the basis of socialist society, and in the Yeltsin Constitution, communism was completely banned as a state ideology. Now Russia is reaping the bitter fruits of this activity.
Vouchers invented by the Chubais team were bought up by dealers and ended up in the hands of the right people. And then "miracles" began with the so-called collateral auctions, allegedly held in order to "replenish the budget." As a result, the country's leading enterprises at extremely low prices fell into the hands of a narrow group of people who overnight became the very oligarchs. The strongest stratification of society occurred: instead of the appearance of a broad middle class, the bulk of the national wealth was concentrated in the hands of several percent of the population.
Older people are still very negative about the privatization carried out in the nineties and insist on a review of its results. In 2012, as Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin proposed that the oligarchs somehow compensate for the damage to the country "either with a one-time fee or something else." However, then this topic stalled, not finding support, and in 2014, President Putin assured that there would be no mass review of the results of privatization.
But back to our main character, Anatoly Chubais. About six months ago, his statement caused a great resonance in society when he complained about the infantilism of society, which for a quarter of a century did not bother to say thanks to the oligarchs:
Opposing Chubais, I would like to ask one another, and who, in fact, the country was ruined and bankrupt before privatization? This is the same as reproaching a woman for not thanking the rapist who helped her to rise from the ground and shake herself off.
The most interesting thing is that the career of Anatoly Borisovich as a privatizer did not end in the nineties. In the “stable” XNUMXs, he was appointed head of RAO UES, and as a result of his “reforms” the country's unified energy system was divided into dozens of private companies, including those with the active participation of foreign capital. How this relates to the idea of national security of a huge country is not clear.
But, apparently, everything was fine with the authorities, since Anatoly Borisovich did not sit on the bench, but in the chair of the head of another state corporation. Now he is the main "nanotechnologist" of the country. With “nanotechnologies” we somehow do not really, but it’s known that about a billion rubles were spent on the RosNANO fleet alone over the course of several years. The statement by Chubais at the corporate party, where he said that they have "a lot of money" there, was very resonant.
After Anatoly Borisovich wittily made excuses, referring to his age, transparently hinting at insanity. True, it is not clear then why he is still at the head of the state corporation.
Our hero did not calm down and at the head of RUSNANO. From the report of Yuri Chaika submitted to the Federation Council, it followed that only the Prosecutor General’s Office was able to prevent the privatization of the managing company of the state corporation at a reduced price in 2017.
However, it can still be ahead. After all, it’s not Chubais who appoints himself to leading positions in state-owned corporations all the time, and he doesn’t shoot friendly programs on state television himself, right?

And we knew that every factory sold was a nail in the lid of the coffin of communism. Is it expensive, cheap, free, with a surcharge - the twentieth question, the twentieth.
Chubais further explains that privatization in our country until the year 97 was essentially not an economic, but a political process:
She solved the main task - to stop communism. We have solved this problem. We solved it completely.

In general, for 25 years, it did not even bother to say thanks to the business once for everything that the business did in the country. He rebuilt the country, he restored the hopelessly collapsed Soviet enterprises.
Opposing Chubais, I would like to ask one another, and who, in fact, the country was ruined and bankrupt before privatization? This is the same as reproaching a woman for not thanking the rapist who helped her to rise from the ground and shake herself off.
