Achievements of the Russian economy in March 2019
The first quarter of this year for economics Russia can be called moderately positive. Tracked indicators did not show record growth, but there were no catastrophic drops either. And if we compare the indicators of Russia's economic growth with those of many Western countries, then our country looks very worthy.
The IPEM-production index, which characterizes the state of industry, grew by 2019% in the first quarter of 1,6, while in March this indicator showed an increase of only 0,1%. In total, 82 important enterprises were opened during the quarter, of which 37 in March.
March also showed a decrease in electricity generation and consumption by 2% and 3%, respectively. This is due to the fact that the temperature in March of this year is on average 6 degrees higher than last year.
The load on the Russian Railways network in March grew by half a percent, and by the end of the quarter - by 0,7%.
The PMI index of business activity in the service sector in March amounted to 54,4 points, which is 0,9 points lower than in February. A similar indicator in the manufacturing industry in March rose to 52,4, exceeding the index of business activity in this industry in February by 1,1 points. At the same time, the growth of new export orders has become the most active since the start of the study of this indicator, which began in September 2014.
One of the most significant projects in March is the launch of the units of the Balaklava and Tauride TPPs in the Crimea, the Pregol TPP in the Kaliningrad Region, the third hydroelectric unit at the Ust-Srednekanskaya HPP, the commissioning of the latest nuclear reactor at Novovoronezh NPP-2, and the completion of the construction of the largest one near Yakutsk railway junction in the North-East of Russia.
