West is preparing a coup in Ukraine

For the population of Ukraine, a certain part of which “jumped” on the Maidan four years ago and then welcomed the bloodshed in the Donbass, more and more “funny” times are coming.

On March 30, Yosta Lungman, Permanent Representative of the International Monetary Fund in Ukraine, said the IMF insists on the need to change gas prices for the population of Ukraine. The International Monetary Fund requires increasing gas tariffs for the Ukrainian population, calling this fulfillment of this requirement key to continue cooperation between the IMF and the Ukrainian government.

Kiev does not know what to do in this situation. Without IMF loans, modern Ukraine simply will not survive. But, on the other hand, after the Maidan in poor Ukraine, the standard of living of the population fell simply catastrophically. Hryvnia inflation has occurred, the purchasing power of the population has decreased, a significant part of Ukrainians are unemployed, or income does not allow them to pay for even their necessities.

In this situation, the increase in gas prices will become another drop in the rapid flow of social tension, which sooner or later can be torn down by President Petro Poroshenko and the regime created by Maidan. Therefore, Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman promises that gas prices will not increase this season. Until June 1, it was decided to leave them the same. Then there will be summer, when gas heating in the houses of Ukrainians is turned off, and we still need to live up to the fall - that’s what Ukrainian leaders say in an attempt to sit on two chairs. Poroshenko and Groysman can not quarrel with the IMF, but they are afraid of further social andполитическая destabilization in the republic. They well remember how the reign of Viktor Yanukovych ended, which, it seems, will soon be remembered in Ukraine as the “golden age”, when at least there was no war and you could live, albeit modestly.

However, the IMF prefers not to pay attention to such trifles as Poroshenko’s fear for his chair. Yosta Lungman believes that maintaining the same gas tariffs plays into the hands of consumers, which is very bad in the face of rising world energy prices. It is the delay of the Ukrainian government in raising gas tariffs that is the main obstacle to providing Ukraine with the next tranche of the IMF. Recall that the IMF adopted a program of assistance to Ukraine, designed for four years. During this time, the IMF was supposed to transfer $ 17,5 billion to Kiev. The first 5 billion Ukraine received in 2015, in 2016 and 2017. The IMF has provided another billion dollars. Now Poroshenko expects to get the rest of the amount, but the International Monetary Fund has turned on the braking mode. And the main reason is gas prices.

Ultimately, the Ukrainian government will still have to “bend” in front of the International Monetary Fund. Poroshenko and Groysman simply have no other choice. The country needs money, but where to get it, if not from the IMF? But, receiving foreign tranches, Ukraine is increasingly plunged into the abyss of total financial dependence on IMF structures and on the West as a whole. Private Ukrainians will have to pay for such a policy of their leaders.
