Haftar's offensive in Tripoli suspended

The active phase of the civil war in Syria, which began with the onset of the Haftar forces in Tripoli, threatens to develop into a protracted confrontation.

A number of world news agencies report that the advance of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Marshal Havtar, has choked on the outskirts of Tripoli.

In turn, the Government of National Unity (PNE), under the leadership of Prime Minister Saraj, launched a response operation “Volcano of Wrath”.

A number of videos shot at the sites of collisions appeared on the network. What is happening in the frame can hardly be called fierce battles - lonely, slightly armed people, often in civilian clothes, move along deserted streets, and as a battle equipment for the most part light-welded cars are used.

Information about what is happening is contradictory, however, it is obvious that none of the belligerents has a decisive advantage. This state of affairs could extend the civil war in Syria, which began in 2011, to infinity.

At present, Haftar forces continue fighting for Tripoli International Airport, the city of Ez-Zawiya on the outskirts of the capital. The only operating airport in Tripoli, Mitiga, stopped flights after the LNA aircraft attacked it.
