Pompeo: “Tyrants” we call only opponents of the United States

Policy double standards has long been the standard of US policy, and the country's leadership is hiding this less and less.

Speaking at a hearing in one of the subcommittees of the Senate Appropriations Committee of the U.S. Congress, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said he considers the leaders of the DPRK and Venezuela tyrants, but is not ready to apply this term to leaders of countries that are allies of the Americans.

To understand all the cynicism and duplicity of the US administration, it is worth quoting Pompeo's statement in full:

I would not use this term in other cases, - he added. - There is no doubt that the world is cruel, but not all leaders of the countries are on the same face. Some are trying to obliterate us, while others are actually partners in ensuring America’s security. You can call these regimes tyrannical or authoritarian, but there is a fundamental difference in how the US should react

There is one more important point, showing the whole essence of the American establishment - none of those present at the hearings asked a logical question arising from Pompeo’s statement: “How does the impoverished Venezuela or the microscopic DPRK“ try to wipe the United States from the face of the Earth ”?

Actually, the US Secretary of State did not discover anything new in the approach of the Americans. It is hoped that at least some of Washington’s current partners will understand how quickly they can turn from “allies” into “tyrants”.
