US demands allies to abandon Huawei products
In the economic confrontation with China, the United States resorted to the usual methods of blackmail and pressure on other countries. So, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo threatens to terminate cooperation with those countries that use the products of Chinese companies. The greatest hatred of the State Department is Huawei.
Washington considers the activities of Chinese high-tech companies a direct threat to US national security. Although this, of course, is primarily about economic competition.
After all, it is no secret that in recent years, Chinese high-tech products have replaced American ones from the world market. Prices for Chinese goods are significantly cheaper, and the quality is less and less behind the American one. And Huawei's products in the first place.
Therefore, Mike Pompeo said that the United States now has two possible ways to counter the “Chinese threat” - either stop sharing information with those countries that cooperate with China, or even stop any interaction with them. Pompeo noted that this also applies to some of the "important strategic partners" of the United States.
Of particular concern to the US side is China's desire to deploy 5G mobile communications systems around the world. Meanwhile, the European Union refused to go on about the United States and ban Chinese equipment manufactured by Huawei.
This decision caused a fury in the United States and the Washington-controlled NATO bloc. Thus, the head of the Joint Command of the North Atlantic Alliance in Europe, Curtis Scaparotti, even said that he would interrupt any contacts with the Bundeswehr if Germany did not refuse to use Chinese of technologies.
