Chinese students are required to wear a controlling gadget on their heads

The Chinese education system seems to be determined to deprive students of even the slightest chance of remaining illiterate. Before schoolchildren really got used to the “smart” form and facial recognition system that would not allow them to skip classes, the leadership of several educational institutions decided to introduce another “useful” technology. This was reported the day before by the network publication The Next Web.

The essence of the innovation is that a special device that looks like a hair hoop will “monitor” the student’s brain activity, while determining the degree of concentration of the student. In other words, hanging around in the clouds or admiring the scenery outside the window while the teacher explains the material will fail.

The device, called Focus 1, was created jointly by BrainCo Inc. from Boston and the Harvard Center for Cognitive Psychology. The device is equipped with EEG sensors, which allow you to determine the degree of “attentiveness” of the student.

All information collected by the device is sent to the teacher’s computer online. Moreover, a unique rating is formed on the screen, where students are arranged in decreasing order, depending on the level of involvement in the educational process.

In general, the Focus 1 can make a significant contribution to the development of a more intensive and effective approach to learning. However, each coin has two sides. So, according to The Next Web, the innovation will undoubtedly increase the level of stress of students.
