The introduction of digital of technologies in order to ensure comfort for the driver and passengers, it has become the “calling card” of modern leaders in the automotive industry. We have already seen “smart” locks, displays on the dashboard and seatbacks, automatic installation of personal parameters, and more.

Another interesting upgrade option was offered by Hyundai. The South Korean automaker plans to replace the already familiar control buttons on the steering wheel with touch panels. Two touchscreens will be located in such a way that the driver can carry out all the necessary manipulations with his thumb, without looking up from the steering wheel.

It is assumed that up to five function buttons will be displayed on each panel. Moreover, their configuration can be adjusted depending on the preferences of the driver or the application launched at a particular moment. And also, the device provides tactile communication.

The prototype described above has already been demonstrated by the example of the interior of the Hyundai i30 model. In the video from the manufacturer you can get acquainted with all the advantages of the new control system. However, when this technology will go into series, the company has not yet reported.
