Russia or China: with whom the US will meet in a “deadly battle”?

2
If in Russia a long time ago they decided on the two main problems of the country, proclaiming that these are roads and fools, then in the United States of America everything is much more complicated. The roads are really good there, but apparently there are no fools. (Although looking at many Washington politicians, you can't tell right away ...) Obviously, that is why the Americans have declared Russia and China as their two main problems for some time now. And even if the rhetoric directed against the Celestial Empire is not as obvious and sharp as the Russophobic attacks, which have become for public figures of the United States something like an indispensable rule of good form, however, Beijing, just like Moscow, has long been seriously enlisted by Washington as the most likely opponents - including the military.

Based on this, it is worth considering the question: which of the two countries of the United States may be more likely to meet in a deadly battle? And with whom, first of all?

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, speaking recently to the appropriations committee of the House of Representatives of the US Congress, assured lawmakers that the budget request of the agency he heads is essentially committed to one goal: "not give Russia and China a chance to get a strategic advantage" in the era that has begun superpower competition. " Well, ranked among the superpowers - and thanks for that ... However, if you take into account exactly what methods Pompeo and his team intend to achieve the task, then something is not very happy. In Beijing, presumably, there is no particular euphoria on this score either - especially after the former commander of the US forces in Europe Ben Hodges at the international conference in Prague said so bluntly: “The war between the United States and China is most likely will begin in the next decade! ” What is characteristic, literally a year earlier, the same general, while still in office, spoke of a term of 15 years. At a fast pace, however, the Pentagon is changing their minds!

In turn, the acting Secretary of Defense of the USA Patrick Shanahan, speaking about the budget of his own department for 2020, said that briefly the incentives for its formation can be reduced to “three words”: “China, China, China!” (Actually, this is one word, in my opinion, but what can we take from the Americans ?!) According to the Pentagon’s head (albeit temporary), the United States “ignored the threat posed by Beijing for too long”, continuing to consider it “a support in the Pacific ". And the “support” suddenly took up and armed itself - and so much so that the US Army, stubbornly clinging to the title of “the best in the world”, just might think hard: “Is it worth it to get involved ?!” According to Shanahan, most of all the American warriors are scared by the presence of hypersonic missiles in China, a well-developed space program and an extremely dynamically developing navy. Of particular concern to the Pentagon is the “militarization of facilities in the South China Sea” and Beijing’s successful work on long-range bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons. Success in this direction will make the Chinese comrades the owners of a full-fledged "nuclear triad" - that is, WMDs, both land and sea, and air based.

A separate “sore subject” is constant accusations of “cyber attacks”, “theft of technologies and military secrets, "sounded by the Americans towards China. By the way, Shanahan did not forget to mention them in his speech either. But this is so ... A small part of the overall picture. At the end of last year, the New York prosecutor's office charged two Chinese citizens with 45 cyber attacks against the United States over a decade. And in the current year, the Accenture Security iDefense cybersecurity division announced that the computer networks of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Universities of Washington and Pennsylvania, the University of Hawaii, and the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute were hacked. All these scientific institutions are distinguished by the fact that they work under contracts concluded with the US Navy. "Hostile actions" aimed at stealing military secrets, according to the Americans, were carried out from servers located in China ...

As you can see - for each of the two main enemies, Washington has its own list of sins and sins. The Russians “interfere in the elections” and scare “the US European NATO allies” (well, those that are smaller) to hiccups, threatening them about to “occupy”. The Chinese rummage in the most secret files of the American military, intelligence agencies and corporations, as in their own Facebook account. And also - they make too good smartphones and overtake America, which is trying to become great again, in technological and scientific development. Anyway-they are the Communists! The only thing that more or less “distinguishes for the better” Beijing from Moscow in the eyes of the White House and Congress is that it does not yet have its Crimea. But this is so far ... Not until March 31, two Chinese J-11 fighter jets “walked” freely in the airspace of Taiwan, which in the Celestial Empire consider it to be their original territory with temporarily lost control. According to the Taiwanese F-16 pilots who flew to intercept, the Chinese pilots "behaved impudently" and fell back on course only when it came to natural air combat.

The Taiwanese authorities naturally began to express their indignation very loudly and sharply, and the United States immediately joined them. White House Security Advisor John Bolton not only stated that “the Chinese provocations will not scare the people of Taiwan who are determined to defend democracy,” but he also made Beijing more than a clear hint, recalling the existence of the 1971 Treaty, in accordance with which the United States will simply be obliged to provide the island lovers of democracy with "military means" in the event of an "external threat." The response of the Celestial Empire was not long in coming - and if the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Gen Shuang simply mockingly declared that he had never heard of any such flights, then the chief editor of the Chinese publication Global Times Hu Sijin was much more eloquent. To understand the rank of this person in the official hierarchy of China, one should know that the publication he leads is nothing more than a structural unit of the People's Daily newspaper, the official publication of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

So, comrade Hu, having chosen Twitter (and not only) so popular with someone in Washington (and not only), he lucidly tried to explain that if Taiwan "does not change the current destructive line of conduct", first of all, it will not collapse immediately military cooperation with the United States, then next time the glorious falcons of the People’s Liberation Army of China may not even turn around halfway ... The American "intercessors" were given unequivocal advice - not to try to embarrass China with "military provocations" Mosti to defend its territorial integrity. " And yet - "do not overestimate their own military capabilities to deter the PLA." It should be noted that violations of Taiwan's airspace from the Chinese side have not been observed since 2011. The reason for the current sharp actions was that Cai Inwen, president of this semi-recognized independent state of the island of Cai, who visited the United States in March of this year, started talking about acquiring the most serious batches of American weapons, including the M-1 Abrams tanks and the latest F-16V fighters. At the same time, it was not at all hidden what exactly Taiwan intends to arm itself with, as they say, to the teeth. The White House agreed. In Beijing, they couldn’t stand it ...

As long as the United States complied with China's demands regarding the official non-recognition of Taiwan (with it in 1979, Washington even had to break off diplomatic relations) and supported the island, stubbornly unwilling to join a happy communist family, secretly and within certain limits, they tolerated it in the Celestial Empire. However, the course taken by the current administration and personally by Donald Trump for too close political and military cooperation with Taipei does not satisfy Beijing categorically. And here it is already mutual sanctions, duties and other purely economic the attributes of the confrontation between the two powers may not be enough.

Will China have the strength to confront the United States with arms in hand? That’s enough. One growth dynamics of the power of his navy is impressive - from 2011 to 2017, the number of Chinese warships increased from 210 to 230. Over the course of a decade and a half, Beijing has promised to increase this number to 430 surface ships and 100 submarines. China may well compete with the Americans in space, which has already been proved in practice. Moreover, we are talking not only about the destruction of foreign military space objects, but also about the launch of its most powerful satellite constellation into orbit, which, in particular, can make worthy competition in the field of navigation with American GPS. Well, and, of course, do not forget about the powerful nuclear missile potential of the Celestial Empire, which is keeping at the sight of its ever-improving Dongfengs, not only Taiwan, but also the United States. However, the main "trump card" of China lies in another, and in the USA it is well understood. They calculated that in the Celestial Empire about 4 million people annually receive diplomas of engineering and scientific specialties. In the United States, exactly ten times less ...

In a long "race" the Americans will lose to China in any case. A little more - and the military power of this country will grow to such an extent that ships under star-striped flags simply will not let close to Taiwan. All attempts to “put in place” Beijing with the tried and tested methods of “trade war” were doomed to failure from the very beginning - and in Washington they perfectly understand this, although they do not recognize it under any circumstances. The situation with Russia is somewhat different - unfortunately, there are still plenty of people in the United States who seriously believe that our country can be "starved", ruined, deprived of the "advanced technologies" of the West, and at worst - ruined from the inside, as it was done with the Soviet Union. It is quite possible, and even more likely, that if it were not for the extremely convincing messages of Putin, backed up by the very concrete work of Shoigu and his subordinates, the Americans would still decide to “try for a tooth” with our country. However, the "Vanguards", "Daggers" and "Poseidons" made the local "hot heads" somewhat cool their warlike fervor.

Someone may ask: “And where did the author come up with such a wild idea about the possibility of a US war with China or Russia ?!” First of all, based on American rhetoric, which was specifically quoted at the beginning of the article. In addition, it’s very clear today that the United States is on the verge of a deep crisis - not only economic, but also political and social. Those who continue to believe that the US is a kind of “promised land,” completely devoid of problems, may not believe. Or take an interest in the chronicles of the Great Depression. This is how anyone likes it ... In any case, the States do not and never were able to get out of truly crisis situations without a global war being waged "somewhere there, in the distance". This is a panacea for them, in one fell swoop solving all external and internal problems, and, above all, invariably giving a new impetus to enriching and developing the economy. We should not forget that the United States, in fact, never waged wars on its own territory. Therefore, neither the country's leaders, nor its ordinary citizens simply can not really imagine what it is - a war. And they won’t imagine it until they face all its horrors with their own eyes. An absolutely unique nation in this respect, an absolutely unique state.

In any case, the military danger emanating from the United States of America is greater than ever. Russia and China, officially designated by Washington as enemies, can only contain it in one way - by building up their own defense potential and strengthening mutual assistance and support, at least in the economic sphere. The best way to prevent a war is to prepare hard for it.

Communist China, studying the bitter experience of the mistakes of the collapsed USSR, is quite capable of destroying Washington, as Rome did with Carthage. According to Marx, the communist model is more progressive than the capitalist one.
