Two weeks before the war
The decisive protectionist measures recently taken by the United States put the world on the edge, if not a global military conflict, then at least a full-blown economic war. The signing of the Memorandum on the fight against economic aggression of China by Donald Trump has raised serious concerns around the world. Two weeks later, the full list of sanctions imposed against the PRC will be announced and everyone froze in anticipation of the response that follows, but there is no doubt that it will follow.
Already, China has published a list of goods imported from the United States for the import of which trade duties may be introduced. Meanwhile, the United States already at the beginning of the month imposed duties on foreign trade in steel and aluminum for foreign countries, which affected many states, including Russia. The measure turned out to be so widespread that the USA had to hurryly introduce exceptions for the European Union and some other countries.
According to experts, further escalation can lead to disastrous consequences, right up to global war. Indeed, economic problems will inevitably aggravate already existing local contradictions.
