The ban on the Russian public debt: May could not jump off the "Russian needle"

5
One gets the impression that the initial effect of the provocative “Skripal affair” is diminishing. A number of Western countries initially showed solidarity with London in its accusations against Russia of this high-profile crime. However, even then the press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov warned the UK that on such serious charges it is necessary to provide equally serious evidence or to be ready to apologize.

And the British presented their “evidence” to the public: 6 allied pictures were shown to the ambassadors of the allied powers in the United Kingdom, and they were perplexed to learn that on their basis the head of the British cabinet Teresa May made her own conclusion about the guilt of the Russian Federation in the attempt on Sergey Skripal and his daughter Julia. The first slide was the title one, the second described the events from the poisoning of the defector to the expulsion of Russian diplomats from London, the third and fourth described the combat properties of Novichok and contained the conclusion that only Russia could use it, the fifth slide told the story of anti-Russian provocations in the territory The United Kingdom, from Litvinenko to Skripal, the final slide of the presentation was crowned with a list of anti-Russian sanctions undertaken by London. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, ironized about this “evidence”:

Rate it. Based on 6 images, decisions of state responsibility in a chemical attack were made.

Western countries, which Britain “tied” with solidarity with it, were in an uncomfortable position. Is it any wonder that even representatives of official Washington justify themselves in a certain way for accepting on accusations of London that Britain is an ally of the United States, which they a priori trust. Heather Nauert, head of the press service of the US State Department, said that she personally did not see any evidence of Russia's involvement in the assassination attempt on Skripal:

And if they (evidence) were sent to us, then obviously not to the State Department. Most likely, they would go to other departments

The leading power of the European Union, Germany has also been in an ambiguous position. At the official level, Chancellor Angela Merkel is forced to continue to show solidarity with London. During a telephone conversation, May and Merkel agreed that their countries needed to continue countering the increased "Russian aggression." However, in reality, the German leadership, contrary to the strongest pressure from the USA and other EU countries, gave permission to build the Russian Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline. It turns out that solidarity is solidarity, and tobacco is apart.

But the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Theresa May, who brewed this mess with the Skripal affair, can no longer get off the anti-Russian rut. The head of the British cabinet agreed with the need to fill in loopholes in the law to prohibit work with Russian debt bonds on the London stock market. The reason was that the Russian bank under sanctions was able to issue Eurobonds in the City of London in the amount of 4 billion euros to cover the public debt.

Among the property owners published in the newspaper are oligarchs and current Russian officials. According to the publication, real estate of billionaire Roman Abramovich costs £ 90 million, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov - £ 11 million, billionaire Andrei Guryev - £ 351 million.

In the current situation, all this property is in danger of confiscation. Now even opposition British politicians insist that if the Russians cannot explain where they got the money, then the UK government should take harsh measures against them.

Castration came from where they did not wait. Well ... Smart learn from someone else's experience. Our oligarchs are definitely not smart. Fools learn from their own experience, but ides are not, in principle, trained. We will soon clarify which of the two remaining categories our oligarchs belong to.
