Unsuitable for war: the vaunted F-35 turned out to be a complete bluff?
Around the "beloved brainchild", born of the touching alliance of the Pentagon and the US military-industrial complex - the F-35 fighter-bomber, a priori declared by the Americans as almost the best combat aircraft of all time, a new serious scandal flares up. Publications appeared in the Western press that spoke of expert findings that spread the reputation of this prohibitively expensive “toy” of the US Air Force to the smithereens. Is the “invisible air killer” that Russia was so openly intimidated with - just another bluff that poses a danger only to paying taxpayers? Now let's figure it out.
To begin with, we recall a recent publication in the American edition of National Interest, whose authors undertook to compare the F-35 with the Russian Su-57. Instead of patriotically criticizing the "enemy" car and taking the Russian one to heaven, they suddenly showed unexpected restraint and even objectivity, summarizing the article with the words that it is simply incorrect to compare these two aircraft, and it is impossible to talk about the superiority of one of them over the other . And in addition to the “passage” that puzzled many in the USA, now in the Western media there are references to a study conducted by the American non-governmental organization Project On Government Oversight (POGO), whose unambiguous conclusion was the verdict: “F-35 miracle fighter” is not good to hell at all!
The authors of the study argue that the plane has a lot of weaknesses and vulnerabilities, represents a danger to its own pilots, and is completely unsuitable for real combat operations. The main problems are called “short-lived construction” (in particular, because of the “stealth” coverage, which, in fact, needs to be restored after each departure), low accuracy of airborne weapons, and, in addition, “extreme vulnerability to cyber attacks”. In general, experts say about the "many defects and technical shortcomings" of the fighter, a significant amount of which they consider to be "extremely serious." It should be noted that neither the Pentagon, nor the manufacturers of the aircraft - Lockheed Martin corporation in this case, had practically anything to cover - they never participated in the F-35 operations, but there were already a lot of incidents, and quite unpleasant ones, with them .
The most valid confirmation of the impartial conclusions made by POGO can be, in particular, the position of Ankara, which flatly refuses to break the deal to acquire Russian S-400 air defense systems under the threat of depriving the supply of just F-35. The situation is highlighted by the fact that Turkey is one of the nine countries participating in the international project to create this “miracle weapon”. And this is not at all about some third-rate "nuts" - the Turkish military industry produces about 800 different parts for this fifth-generation fighter. According to experts, its exit from the production chain threatens that the production of cars will be stopped for several months - until they find a worthy replacement for Turkey. In addition, by the way, everything is going on - as Washington continues to blackmail with might and main Ankara by "excommunication" from the entire F-35 project as a whole. However, for some reason, neither Recep Erdogan nor the leaders of the country's military department are horrified. Is the answer lies in the fact that the cunning Turks, by virtue of more complete access to real information on this fighter, than many other countries of the same NATO, simply know what kind of "happiness" it is? And the choice in favor of our S-400s is made precisely because they can compare the potential effectiveness of the American "sword" and the Russian "shield"? But, most likely, that is exactly how it is ...
If someone thinks the wild idea that “practical Americans” could spend hundreds of billions of dollars on a military project, the result of which turned out to be a dummy, I can recall that the Pentagon has managed to swell about the last few decades. 40 billion dollars in several projects to create a "superweapon", which did not end at all. Well, except for absolutely unusable models and prototypes. Self-propelled howitzers capable of hitting an enemy almost on a neighboring continent ... Anti-tank ammunition that can burn entire enemy convoys ... Invulnerable infantry fighting vehicles ... Incidentally, among such projects was an "inconspicuous reconnaissance helicopter." Another “flying invisible”, yeah ... who never flew anywhere, having “devoured” 8 billion from the US military budget. American corporations are very fond of military orders - and the more they have scale and scope, the better. They can’t fight!
About the enormous amount of unresolved flaws in the F-35 (about a thousand!) The Pentagon officially announced last year. The plane is unreliable, it is "eating" corrosion, the software has to be changed almost daily, and many of the "latest" machines have already turned into "flying coffins", ready to fall apart in the air due to metal fatigue. This is all - official data, as well as the amount calculated by the military department of $ 670 million, which is required for the creation and subsequent maintenance of the F-35 for the entire planned life. The joke is that a pile of gold of equal weight to a fighter is cheaper ...
In connection with all this, it remains from the heart to sympathize with the Chief of Staff of the US Air Force, General David Goldfine, who not so long ago noted the statement that according to the "new military concept of the United States" his "falcons" would be able to "go behind the Russians," in spite of any Air defense. On what, general? On these your F-35s ?! Well then - try ...
