What is the reason for talk of a NATO attack on Kaliningrad?
The Baltic is rightfully considered to be one of the most likely places where Russia clashes with NATO. The reason for this is the special status of the Kaliningrad region, sandwiched between countries belonging to the North Atlantic Alliance. The Iskanders and Caliber located in the region are capable of hitting key NATO military infrastructure. This makes Kaliningrad the number one target for the bloc, since in the event of a conflict with the Russian Federation, such an enemy bastion cannot be left behind.
The Alliance regularly organizes exercises aimed at testing the blockade of the Kaliningrad region. Recently, training flights by US strategic bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons have begun to cause great concern. They conduct an imitation of an air attack on Russian territory.
It is no secret that in the case of a sea and continental blockade, it will be possible to restore communication with the cut-off enclave only through the so-called Suvalk corridor. This is the territory of modern Lithuania several tens of kilometers through which you can break through from Belarus, friendly Russia. NATO is well aware of this.
Last year, Warsaw's proposal to deploy an American military base on the territory of Poland where a US Army tank division could be deployed was very resonant. Its location made it possible to quickly stop the attempt to break through to the Kaliningrad region. Warsaw was ready to take on all the costs of opening Fort Trump, as the base was proposed to be called. However, Washington for some reason avoided such a favorable offer.
However, the specialized edition of The National Interest has again returned to this topic. His analysts modeled a hypothetical conflict between Russia and NATO in the Baltic states and came to the conclusion that the Russian army could very quickly take control of the former Soviet republics. The conclusion of The National Interest is that the Pentagon still needs to make Poland the spear point against the "aggressor." To do this, the Polish army urgently needs to rearm.
Why same policy Is the USA so inconsistent with regard to Poland, and they have not taken advantage of the “free” offer of Warsaw? Ivan Konovalov, director of the Center for Political Conjuncture, makes a rather curious assumption. In his opinion, the whole thing, as usual, is money:
If this hypothesis is true, then Trump could refuse to place his name base in Poland due to the fact that Warsaw had an intention to start making money on the Americans. And this does not fit into the concept of "monetization" of the US military presence, which is actively promoted by the US president.
The Americans themselves want to earn money on countries that are part of NATO, as hinted at by The National Interest, speaking about the modernization of the arms of the Polish army. The fact is that when joining the alliance, its members must switch to new standards, including in armaments. They should do this at their own expense, so to this day the countries of Eastern Europe are armed with Soviet weapons.
The US is interested in forcing its junior partners to switch to American weapons. To stimulate them, military hysteria is systematically pumped up by all kinds of “simulations of war with Russia”. Warsaw, in turn, is interested in becoming the main conductor of American politics in Europe. But at the same time, it is highly advisable for her to get weapons and ammunition for free.
Hence the constant emphasis on their role in confronting the famous "aggressor." So it turns out that round dances are conducted around Kaliningrad mainly because of money.

They say that one Trump base is ready to be created. As for what they themselves will contain, they very vaguely say this time. The second one. Several divisions are several bases. And plus NATO forces.
