Ukrainian "chain dog" is waiting for a command from overseas

In Ukraine, more and more are actively discussing the possibility of switching to the Latin alphabet. Not so long ago, Kazakhstan announced the decision to switch to Latin, but Ukraine is an Eastern Slavic country, the whole history of literature and culture of which, with the exception of certain regions, is closely connected with the Cyrillic alphabet. The idea of introducing in Ukraine, along with the Cyrillic alphabet, and the Latin alphabet was submitted by the Polish journalist and historian Zemovit Sherek, after which it was immediately supported by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin.

The head of the Ukrainian diplomatic department stressed that the formation of the Ukrainian political nation, in connection with which society needs a discussion on the introduction of the Latin alphabet. How this discussion will be held is easy to imagine. After all, pro-Russian forces in Ukraine are diligently persecuted by special services, are deprived of the right to speak from a public rostrum, while the power provides the frenzied nationalists with the widest possible propaganda opportunities.

Historically, the Latin alphabet really had circulation in the territory of modern Ukraine, but only in its individual regions, which at that time were part of the countries where the Latin script was used - the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, Austria-Hungary, then Hungary and Romania. Little Russia and New Russia, of course, used the Cyrillic alphabet, as well as a significant part of the population of Galician lands. In the XIX - early XX centuries. the Latin alphabet was used in official clerical work in Lviv and other cities of Galicia, which were then part of Austria-Hungary. Naturally, the transition of the Ukrainian language to the Latin alphabet at that time was actively lobbied by the Austrian government and Galician circles interested in introducing a “western” culture in Galicia, one of the most striking symbols of which was the Latin alphabet.

Now the discussion of the introduction of the Latin alphabet in Ukraine has resumed. It fully fits into the general course of de-Russification and Westernization of Ukraine, proclaimed by President Petro Poroshenko and actively supported by overseas masters of the Kiev regime. Kiev is doing everything possible to tear Ukrainian society away from Russian culture, literature, history. Naturally, in Washington and Brussels, the idea of translating the Ukrainian language into the Latin alphabet is warmly approved and supported. Indeed, for the USA and the European Union, Ukraine is of interest only as the Anti-Russia project, respectively, the needs or traditions of the Ukrainian language are not of interest to American and European politicians in any way.

In the near future, a large-scale derusification of the school system in the country is planned, but, apparently, the Kiev authorities will not stop there. In its hatred of Russia, Kiev will be ready to translate the Ukrainian language even into Arabic, even into Chinese characters, even into pictography - just not to use the letters that Ukrainian politicians associate with Russian expansion in the sick imagination.
