The Baltic states are approaching the peak of Russophobia: what has it brought to?

2
The Baltic states seem to be in their anti-Russian policy have reached the limit beyond which even the miserable reflections of something similar to common sense end, and the real theater of the absurd begins. As it became known, in the very near future a “representative forum” is due to take place in Riga, the participants of which will seriously and far-reaching intentions will discuss the question of how much and in what way they have to “rip off” from Russia “the compensation for the Soviet period occupation. " There is nowhere to go further, as they say ...

The announcement of the conference “Determining the Losses Inflicted on the Baltic States by the Soviet Occupation” in the capital of Latvia was published on the official website of the Ministry of Justice there. If you believe what is written in it, then a “fundamental study” will be presented at the meeting about the “terrible damage” that Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania caused during their stay in the Soviet Union (very interesting - by whom and on the basis of what data was prepared?). They will also discuss practical issues of “ways to legally obtain appropriate compensation”. No wonder that the ministers of justice of all three Baltic countries will take part in the event. Without a doubt, our country will be considered as the object of claims - after all, it is officially the legal successor of the USSR.

You can, of course, joke for a long time and tastefully on the subject of which part of the body of which prematurely deceased pet these "legalists" can claim, in reality who can only announce the information space of Europe with their indignant squeak. However, it’s completely ignored such tricks ?! Russophobia of the Baltic dwarfs is too much off scale! At first they “integrated into Europe” to the point that the population of their countries faces the threat of complete extinction, and now, faced with a very real prospect of being left without Brussels subsidies, which allowed them to stay afloat for some time, they decided to embark on extortion already in Russia? Well, the pipes!

It is not surprising that Lithuania acts as the “flagship” in this process. Recently, Russophobia has taken on a scale unprecedented and abnormal even for the Baltic states. Its Prime Minister Saulius Skvernialis (by God, such a surname!) This week made a statement that any kind of “strategic cooperation” with Russia would be a “fatal mistake threatening the interests of the state”. About any continuation or "reset" of partnership with our country, and, indeed, even about maintaining normal good neighborly relations with it, in the opinion of this nasty man, there can be no question! Russia, according to him, “does not respect the norms of international law” ... And what does Lithuania respect, in the Sejm which is now preparing to consider a petition for the destruction of the Victory Monument in the center of Riga, already declared by local nationalists “a reminder of the suffering suffered in the occupation” ?!

However, Lithuania’s neighbors are no better. In the Latvian Sejm, they are now discussing a roughly similar issue - the urgent introduction of a ban on “wearing military uniforms of totalitarian regimes at public events. In mind, of course, there are, first of all, the uniforms of the Red and Soviet armies, in which the few veterans of the Great Patriotic War who survived the “Europeanization” of the country allow themselves to appear on the streets at least on Victory Day. MPs are in a hurry - in time for this May 9th. The Seimas Human Rights and Public Affairs Commission is ready to stamp in the second reading this cannibalistic decision initiated by the local semi-Nazi "national-conservative" party, so that, we must think, they will meet the deadlines. After that, the disgusting hysteria, arranged in Latvia by a nationally preoccupied passenger, clutching the hairstyle of a woman driver for a few words spoken in Russian, looks something for granted.

In Estonia, Russophobia looks not just infamous, but also utterly stupid. There, for example, the construction of the Saare Wind Energy wind farm in the sea near the island of Saarema was banned, in the construction of which investors were ready to invest as much as 1.7 billion euros! It would seem - rejoice, fall to the benefactors in the legs and master the investment. But no - the hot Estonian guys from the Security Police intervened, who were picking on the “Russian roots” of financing this project, which brought tremendous benefits to the country - and he was immediately “frozen”. Most likely - without the slightest prospect of implementation. On the other hand, what to expect from a country whose Minister of Justice, Urmas Reinsalu, was the first to raise the topic of “receiving compensation from Russia for the Soviet occupation”.

All this, right, is not at all funny. Those who think of themselves as lions, it’s time for the pugs to put on strong muzzles so that they do not open their mouths too wide. There are ways to do this - at least to demand that the memory of our country be forgotten for every drop of Russian blood shed for the liberation of their land, for every Nazi legionnaire with Baltic roots and for every tear of our veterans shed through their fault. I strongly suspect that they will not have enough “national wealth” to cover such an account.
