NASA showed a prototype of the future lunar base

One of the promising areas of world space exploration is deep space exploration. At the moment, industry giants are working hard to build and test heavy missiles that allow for such trips. However, Lockheed Martin, as part of the NASA Gateway project, went further: the designers “swung” to create a station that would be located far from the Earth (for example, on the Moon), and will become the basis for the aforementioned flights.

The prototype module is located in the Space Center. Kennedy got the name Habitat Ground Test Article. Often the Gateway project is called a high-tech probe in the raging North Sea, while the ISS is compared to a primitive tourist barge in a quiet lagoon. Thus, HGTA is a completely different level of space equipment, which requires thorough testing and research.

As it became known, the latest development was based on the Donatello multipurpose logistics module. However, now the modernized design of the "cargo carrier" allows you to use almost every cubic centimeter to install the necessary equipment and carry out other tasks.

The Habitat Ground Test Article is now at the full disposal of the NASA NextSTEP team. At the end of March, it is planned to populate a group of test astronauts in the apparatus, who will perform testing of the module systems in real time. And after that, the HGTA will be sent for mandatory revision and further testing.

How much does this "Miracle" weigh, and who (or what) will throw it on the moon?
