The car can now be bought in a giant machine

Ford and Alibaba, a China-based e-commerce company, have launched the Super Test-Drive Center, the world's first auto vending machine. The device’s impressive size is somewhat reminiscent of a rack, and its height is comparable to a three-four-story building.

For the first time, the idea of creating such a device arose in 2016, and already in December 2017, photos on the Web showed how all this would look in reality. Now the machine has earned, and has even managed to sell several cars to its first customers. Making a purchase with it is not more difficult than acquiring soda or chips in a machine more familiar to us. Payment is made either in a nearby terminal, or through a mobile application, which is now available for download on the Internet. If desired, the buyer can first try a new car in a three-day test drive mode, and then, if there are no complaints, buy it back. If the customer refuses the purchase, then he simply returns the car to its place.

There have already been attempts in history to create a device with similar functionality. The first concepts were developed at the beginning of the 20th century, and the American company Carvana was the pioneer in the construction of automatic machines for selling cars. It is known that Singapore already has similar facilities, but Alibaba and Ford are not willing to take risks, and so far have limited themselves to a trial run. Whether such unusual vending machines will take root and whether I will be popular - time will tell, but for now Ford will evaluate the car preferences of the inhabitants of the Middle Kingdom.
