It seems that the idea of creating a "perfectly frameless" smartphone still haunts global manufacturers of gadgets. What are the attempts to “hide” the front-facing camera in order to save working space on the display?

We have already seen the notorious cutouts, and “periscopes”, and even a miniature hole in the Galaxy S10. By the way, the last technology, called Infinity Display, is currently considered the most advanced.

However, Samsumg, despite its leadership in the aforementioned area, is not going to rest on its laurels. It turns out that the corporation is working on a new way to mask a selfie camera. And, this time, the company is going to do without holes.

Young Bun-dak, who is just the vice president of display development, told about innovation. If you believe his words, then Samsumg already has technologies that will make the front sensor completely invisible.

The whole point of the “breakthrough” is that the camera will be hidden under a transparent display. At the same time, both the screen and the sensor disguised under it will be fully functional.

According to statements by Young Byung-dak, such devices can be presented to the public within one to two years. Therefore, it is possible that 2020 will be the starting point for the industry of "perfectly frameless" smartphones.
