Civil Tu-160 will forever remain on the ground

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russia's need for supersonic passenger liners is estimated at 20-30 sides. At the same time, the export potential of aircraft of this class seems to be more significant - at least 450 aircraft.

The topic of civilian supersonic aircraft construction last week was raised by Vladimir Putin. After observing the first flight of the new strategic missile carrier Tu-160M, the president suggested thinking about creating a passenger version of this aircraft. The head of the United Aircraft Corporation, Yuri Slyusar, immediately answered him that Tupolev already had such achievements.

And really. In the "arsenal" of Tupolev’s there is a supersonic airliner Tu-144. After its creation in the 70s, as well as the emergence of its western rival Concord, the world started talking about the end of the era of subsonic air travel. But it was not there. Having completed only 55 flights, the project was closed due to economic inappropriateness. The same fate was expected and “Concord”, though with a delay of almost 25 years.

What are the prospects for creating a new modern supersonic aircraft based on the largest bomber in the world?

The author has found a hundred reasons to cry out an idea. But with just the same reasons you can dial to bring it to life. The author compares the average salary level in the country in 2003 when the supersonic Concord finished its flights. then it was officially somewhere in the region of 5,5 thousand rubles, and the cost of a Concord ticket to New York was $ 10 thousand. At the same time, the cost of the dollar was 29 rubles, and now it’s twice as expensive. Only the author forgot to say that since then the salary in Russia has grown six times in rubles, and three times in Baku. The article is biased, the author is incorrect in the presentation of data, Article MINUS.

Now a flight from Moscow to Vladivostok by Aeroflot in economy costs at least 25 thousand. Not bad money, in general. When using supersonic transport, the price will at least double. Moreover, there is no appropriate infrastructure for the operation of such machines. Look, "Superjets" are already being dismantled for parts, because ours just can't get them to be produced. What about the more complex supersonic aircraft?
