Why did not Kiev support hysterical London?

It would seem that against the background of total European hysteria about the expulsion, following Britain, of Russian diplomats, Ukraine has a chance to show its loyalty to London, and also to take revenge on the "aggressor country" (as Russia is called in Kiev). One could expect that the “non-stop” one would run ahead of the European steam locomotive. However, the Ukrainian authorities are in no hurry to join this anti-Russian campaign. Why did this suddenly happen with official Kiev?

Why did not Kiev support hysterical London?

The deputy speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, Irina Gerashchenko, answered this question. It turns out that Kiev is afraid of a response from Moscow. If Russian diplomats are expelled from Ukraine, a similar step will be taken with respect to Ukrainian diplomats. And then Gerashchenko fears for the fate of people convicted in Russia for terrorism or espionage. The Ukrainian authorities consider them “political prisoners.”

On her Facebook page, Gerashchenko complained that these individuals would remain “face to face with the Mordor” (as she called Russia, with a capital letter). The vice speaker continued:

Without a chance at least every few months to see the Ukrainian representative, to feel minimal support ... Do you really want this? Let’s ask Klykh’s mother, Karpyuk’s wife, Suschenko and Grib families

It is worth noting that at the end of last year, Irina Gerashchenko openly humiliated prisoners from the DPR and LPR during the hostage exchange between Ukraine and the Republics. Eyewitnesses recalled that she constantly threatened to tear their documents and disrupt the exchange. She especially mocked the citizens of Russia, who did not fall under this exchange and are still in Ukrainian prisons.

As for the persons named to her: Stanislav Klykh and Nikolay Karpyuk are Ukrainian nationalist radicals, members of the extremist organization UNA-UNSO banned in the Russian Federation, who were convicted of participating in the Chechen war on the side of armed gangs.

Roman Suschenko accused of espionage. Under the guise of a journalist from the Ukrinform agency, an employee of the main military intelligence department of Ukraine acted, collecting information on the activities of the Russian Armed Forces. Moreover, as a journalist, he did not have accreditation. Ardent Russophobe Pavel Grib, who did not hide his hateful views, was accused of promoting terrorist activities.

Irina Gerashchenko has not yet named all the people who are involved in terrorism and rightfully are in Russian prisons. She forgot something about Oleg Sentsov, Alexander Kolchenko and Gennady Afanasyev, who organized the arson of the offices of United Russia and the Russian Community of Crimea in Simferopol on April 14 and 18, 2014. They also prepared explosions on the night of May 9 near the Eternal Flame and a monument to Lenin in the same city. Or did they suddenly become "uncomfortable figures" for Gerashchenko? They can not be called "innocent"?

Well, one "Russian political prisoner" - Nadezhda Savchenko - Ukraine has already "rescued from the dungeons of Mordor." Now those who met her at the airport and presented her with the highest state award, no longer know where to put their “heroine” to hell. Others can now be used to justify their hidden fear of retaliatory measures in Russia.
