In 2024, the Japanese operation of the ISS ends. Thus, the program of moon exploration, which is increasingly mentioned by the media of the Land of the Rising Sun, could become a new priority for its space industry.

And now, as if to confirm the above, there was information that the Japan Aerospace Research Agency (JAXA) together with Toyota are planning to create a manned rover for moving around the surface of our natural satellite. Despite the fact that the all-terrain vehicle is currently only a conceptual project, the developers hope that in the future it will be useful not only for the exploration of the moon, but also for movement on Mars.

A powerful six-wheeled rover will be equipped with a fuel cell-based propulsion system and will be able to move around different types of terrain without problems. The engine and the main components of the machine are designed to cover distances of up to 10 thousand km. The volume of usable space inside the vehicle is 13 sq.m. with overall dimensions: 6x5,2x3,8 meters.

The all-terrain vehicle is intended for a crew of two people, but in case of emergency, 4 passengers can quite comfortably sit on board. As for the beginning of the assembly of the apparatus and the testing, the parties did not indicate any dates.
