Yemen rockets set up a real firework in the saudi sky

Seven ballistic missiles were launched on the night of March 26th over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) from Yemen. This was reported by the Saudi Press Agency and the Arab television channel Sky News Arabia. Three rockets flew to the capital of Riyadh, two to the cities of Khamis Mushait and Najran, the other two were aimed at Jizan (southwestern part of the Kingdom). According to Saudi media reports, all seven missiles were intercepted by the Saudi missile defense systems.

The American publication The Aviationist, commenting on the video recording of the missile attack, noted that two of Saudi Arabian missiles in the course of repelling the attack failed. According to the Saudi Press Agency, the wreckage of one of the rockets fell on a residential building in Riyadh, which killed one person and two were injured (all of them are citizens of Egypt). It is likely that the Saudi missile defense missile just led to the deaths and injuries of civilians.

The Saudi authorities blame the incident on the Hussite Yemeni rebels from the Ansar Allah movement, in addition, typical accusations are also made in the direction of Iran.

It is worth noting that three years ago, on March 26, 2015, a military operation in Yemen began, led by Saudi Arabia. This operation is carried out at the call of former Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, whom the KSA and the United States recognize as the legal head of state.

Hadi came to power in February 2012 after the President of Yemen Ali Abdullah Saleh was ousted during the Arab Spring. He was elected for two years, but in January 2014 he extended his term. The Hussites came against him. On January 22, 2015, Hadi resigned, but then changed his mind and withdrew his decision. He tried to gain a foothold in Aden and designated this city as the provisional capital of the state. From there, he called on the Arab monarchies to military invasion of their own country. On March 25, the ex-president fled to Saudi Arabia and again called for an anti-Yemeni military operation. And on the night of March 26, aggression began.

The coalition led by Saudi Arabia includes 10 countries, including the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan. Against Yemen, the Kingdom sent 100 military aircraft and 150 thousand soldiers. A military operation called the “Storm of Determination” led to numerous civilian casualties and a humanitarian disaster in the country. The United States and its allies are silent about this, focusing their "righteous anger" on Syria. And again, we observe double standards, meanwhile, the president of Syria, unlike Hadi, did not run away from his country.

There are currently disagreements between the Hadi and the Saudi authorities. A few days ago, the Qatari television channel Al Jazeera reported that one of the former Yemeni ministers of the Hadi government, Salah al-Sayadi, accused the KSA of violating his country's sovereignty and stated that the coalition had deviated from its original goals. According to the official, Hadi is currently under house arrest in Saudi Arabia. At the same time, Sayadi expressed the opinion that “all Yemenis wish for the return of Hadi,” but he did not take into account that the majority are just Hussites.

In these conditions, Yemen is forced to defend itself with affordable means. Last December, the Hussites attacked Saudi Arabia, firing a ballistic missile at the Royal Palace of Yamam. Then this blow was sharply condemned from Washington. US State Department spokesman Heather Nauert expressed concern over the Hussites. Iran also "got it", which the White House accuses of supporting the Hussites and supplying them with modern weapons. Most likely, the American authorities can use this incident as another anti-Iranian attack.

Recently thirty-seven American scientists politicians and diplomats sent a letter to the Senate urging the United States to end support for Saudi Arabia and its war in Yemen. They noted that Washington, while supporting the Saudi coalition, is responsible for its war crimes, such as the bombing of residential buildings, hospitals and schools. They also called for the lifting of the naval blockade of Yemen, as it creates a humanitarian catastrophe in the country - more than 8 million civilians suffer from hunger.

Euronews cited data from the Yemeni Center for Rights and Development, according to which more than 10 thousand civilians, including 2 thousand women and 2,4 thousand children, were killed during the Saudi military operation in Yemen.
