Why the American "Dragon" is not a competitor to the "Union"

6
The new device from SpaseX Crew Dragon, which is designed in the near future to "try on" the mission of delivering American astronauts to the ISS, completed the planned tests. If previously it was reported that the “Dragon” flew and docked with the International Space Station, on the eve it became known about the successful landing of the reusable module.

Recall that until recently, the delivery of astronauts from the United States was carried out by the Russian Soyuz rocket. Now, the domestic apparatus has a competitor. The first manned mission Crew Dragon is scheduled for July this year.

However, strangely enough, Roscosmos is only happy to implement the project of yet another transport system. Apparently, state-owned corporations proceed from the principle “a holy place never happens”. Now, according to the reports of its representatives, a place will be freed up at the Soyuz that can be offered to other partners who are not able to send astronauts on their own ships.

It was previously reported that Dmitry Rogozin congratulated Ilon Mask immediately after the successful test of Crew Dragon. At the same time, Roscosmos noted that the appearance of the SpaseX spacecraft will significantly expand the possibilities of mutual assistance in space in case of unforeseen difficulties.

Now, according to the reports of its representatives (the state corporation "Roscosmos"), a place will be vacated at the Soyuz, which can be offered to other partners who are unable to send astronauts on their own ships.

And really, who cares who will fly? Therefore, not a competitor

Well, yes, NASA stuck to us for a cheap ride, pick up and bring. And we will have the opportunity to receive not a bad profit for the transportation of those who wish and do not have their own capabilities to get into orbit. You can't carry much cargo or passengers on the Dragons.

I venture to incur the wrath of comments, but I’ll say.))))))) What is the meaning of manned space exploration? What is its practical use nowadays? In my opinion, there is no practical benefit! A suitcase without a pen, in the full sense of the word! It’s a pity to quit, and money can be pulled from the budget. For officials, the benefits are on the face! That's probably all!
