First flying car certified

They have been talking about flying cars for years. Many well-known companies such as Airbus, Audi and Uber even managed to introduce to the public the concepts of such devices. However, the matter did not go beyond the demonstration of prototypes.

And then, unexpectedly, a flying car was shown at the Geneva exhibition, which, as it turned out, had already passed certification and was completely ready for operation. The brainchild belongs to the Dutch company PAL-V.

Liberty Pioneer Edition - this is the name that the unusual transport received; it is a gyroplane equipped with a huge propeller, which, in fact, lifts the car into the air. However, the miracle machine "is able" not only to fly. If necessary, the car will switch over to the “wheel” drive without any problems, and the screw will fold neatly.

Despite the fact that many manufacturers strive to equip their devices with electric traction, Liberty Pioneer Edition works the old fashioned way - on gasoline. The tank holds 100 liters of fuel, while the consumption is 26 liters per hour of flight. The maximum speed that a flying car can develop is 180 miles per hour.

To control the brainchild of PAL-V, you need a gyroplane license. Also, the owner of the device will have to undergo 40-hour training, which is not so much, given the abundance of various buttons and switches in the cockpit.

In the near future, the company plans to produce 90 cars. True, it is still allowed to manage them outside the urban area, but, as they say: "the trouble began."
