Americans create four jet hoverbikes at once
More than one company is working on the development of flying motorcycles, or as they are also called hoverbikes. The vast majority of the concepts presented are based on an electric motor with propellers, like those used in drones. However, the American brand JetPack Aviation decided to go the other way and immediately release 4 jet-powered vehicles.
A promising hoverbike was called Speeder and, as already mentioned, provides for 4 models: “For outdoor activities”, “Ultra-light”, “Military” and “Cargo”. Basically, they differ in speed and duration of flight. The device is equipped with five jet nozzles directed downward and providing lifting force, as well as two more for horizontal movement, located at the rear.
The model for outdoor activities (Recreational Speeder) can accelerate to 240 km / h, and its flight time (depending on the height and weight of the pilot) will be up to 22 minutes. Moreover, the mass of the device itself is 104,7 kg. "Ultralight" hoverbike (Ultralight Speeder) will not be so fast, its top speed is 96 km / h. In addition, the time spent in the air will decrease.
The "military" apparatus (Military Speeder) will be able to accelerate, like the first prototype. But his flight will last up to 30 minutes. Also on its basis will be created and “Cargo” hoverbike (Cargo Speeder). The design of the latter includes a special container for transportation.
According to developers from JetPack Aviation, the Ultralight Speeder version can be controlled even without a pilot license. Training takes place on the basis of the company. At the moment, the cost of Recreational Speeder is known, which is equal to 380 thousand dollars. You can pre-order now.
