Nobody needs Bulgarian GTS without “Turkish Stream”

The Bulgarian authorities recognized how important it was for them to be a member of the Turkish Stream project, even with a stuffed carcass, even with a carcass.

The Czech publication Dnes cites a statement by the Prime Minister of Bulgaria, Boyko Borisov, in which he said that his country strongly supports the construction of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline.

At the same time, the Bulgarian prime minister called the opponents of the Russian-Turkish gas pipeline construction traitors who want to bury the country's investments in the land and emphasized that Bulgaria is interested in "the most transparent hub." Borisov explains his anxiety about the fate of the Turkish Stream by the fact that without Turkish gas (no matter how it enters Turkey), the Bulgarian gas transportation system will become useless to anyone.

Recall that last year, by signing a contract with Russian Gazprom, Bulgaria became a member of the Turkish Stream project and can receive gas already in 2020 almost simultaneously with Serbia. Eastern European countries such as Hungary and Slovakia will receive Turkish Stream gas a little later - in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

The example of Bulgaria gives hope that after the presidential election Ukraine will come to its senses and will also take care of saving its own GTS.
