Russian billionaires lost shame
Forbes magazine calculated how much “living” money Russian billionaires received from February last year to February this year. In total, for ten people it turned out $ 10,7 billion.
Forbes published another income rating of wealthy Russians. But he did not take into account the total value of their “factories, factories, newspapers, ships”, but “live” money received in the form of dividends or from the sale of assets.
In the first place is Kirill Shamalov. In May of last year, he sold part of the shares of Sibur for $ 2,3 billion. He spent most of the proceeds on repaying a loan from Gazprombank, which he took in 2014 to buy Sibur. Shamalov first entered the Forbes income ranking.
It is followed by Alexei Mordashov, who earned $ 1,56 billion in dividends and the sale of Severstal shares.
In third place is Vladimir Lisin with $ 1,23 billion received in the form of dividends from his company NLMK. The total amount of dividends paid by the company in 2017 amounted to 84,3 billion rubles. Most of this money (84%) was received by Lisin.
Dmitry Rybolovlev stood out for arranging a sale of paintings. Most of them sold cheaper than bought, but the work of Leonardo da Vinci's “Savior of the World” has risen in price by 3,5 times. For it, he received $ 450 million. He also sold some real estate. Total revenue of $ 860 million brought him sixth place in the ranking.
Closes the top ten TOP Alisher Usmanov. He did not sell anything during the “reporting period”. But due to the dividends of Metalloinvest and Megafon, it became richer by $ 660 million.
I must say that over the past crisis year, the majority of Russian oligarchs got rich quite well.
Vladimir Lisin, whose fortune is estimated at $ 19,1 billion, has become richer by $ 3 billion.
Vagit Alekperov “rose” by $ 1,9 billion and became the owner of a fortune of $ 16,4 billion.
Vladimir Potanin “gained weight” by $ 1,6 billion, and now his assets are estimated at $ 15,9 billion.
Art lover Viktor Vekselberg brought himself + $ 2 billion, increasing his fortune to $ 14,4 billion.
Suleiman Kerimov, being under house arrest in Nice, managed to contribute $ 0,1 billion to his personal piggy bank and now owns property worth $ 6,4 billion.
Eminent economists argue that the growth of the well-being of individual citizens in difficult times is due to their remarkable energy, professionalism and business acumen.
Evil tongues say that oligarchs arrange crises on purpose, because in troubled waters, it is simpler and easier to increase wealth.
Ordinary Russians, for whom a billion and a million dollars are equally unattainable, abuse power in the kitchens in the evening and go to work in the morning. Even if they pay little and irregularly.
