German media talked about the failure of Guaidó's plans

The German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine, analyzing the situation in Venezuela, emphasized that Juan Guaidó, who declared himself the "president" of this country, is helpless. This is evidenced by his constant calls to the international community, as well as statements that you need to "keep in mind all the methods," as he put it, "for the liberation of the homeland."

According to the author of the article, such a weakness on the part of Guaido can be used by the legitimate head of state, Nicolas Maduro. The latter has every reason to say that his opponent wants to throw Venezuela, which has rich resources, "to the altar of North American imperialism."

The publication notes that Guaido's intentions failed. Only a month ago, he could gather a rather crowded manifestation, tried to organize a campaign of international assistance, wanted to arrange a concert to inspire his supporters. However, the results of all these actions are not impressive: not so many servicemen passed to his side, and the American "humanitarian aid" could not get into the country. The army submits to the legitimate president of Maduro.

Despite all this, the newspaper emphasized, the Venezuelan opposition does not declare a retreat, as it enjoys the support of Washington. So, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo continues to face serious consequences for all who "impede democracy." In light of this, the situation in a Latin American country can develop in any way.

It is unclear whether Guaido will now be able to return to Caracas after a speech in Colombia

- summed up the publication.

Indeed, the behavior of Trump’s appointee suggests that he has only one hope left: outside patrons. And his “heroic” trip abroad, despite the ban on leaving the territory of Venezuela, does not seem to be a feat, but rather an escape. Most likely, the impostor himself understands that he does not have to rely on the “support of the people”, about which he likes to speak to an external audience. He has only one way to come to power: with the help of those whom he shook hands in Colombia.
