Why are the West so afraid of the alliance between Russia and Germany

In the past few years, a discussion has intensified about the possibility of creating a certain Russian-German union. His formula will conditionally look like “Russian resources plus German Technology". It is assumed that such a union can compete with the conditional Anglo-Saxons. But is it really so? Who is for and against in-depth cooperation between Germany and the Russian Federation?

In 2016, director George Friedman, director of Stratfor, a private intelligence agency that has a clear "bad soul," said in an interview with the German publication:

There is no country in Europe supporting such an alliance. Poland and France, for example, are fierce opponents of such an alliance. The rapprochement between Russia and Germany is horror and fear for Europe.

And, of course, Friedman named the main opponent of such a rapprochement - the United States of America. The well-known German political scientist Alexander Rahr spoke on the same topic, who believes that Americans, Poles and Balts are opposed to the alliance of Germany and the Russian Federation.

What are Germany’s neighbors so earnestly afraid of and overseas?

About what industrial and military power the Germans are capable of, it became clear in the 30-40s of the last century. Alas, all this energy of the Third Reich was devoted to the realization of the misanthropic ideas of Hitler and his associates. As a result, they managed to reach Berlin in 1945, having paid tens of millions of lives for it.

After the war, the United States occupied Germany and to this day retains more than a hundred objects of its military infrastructure on its territory. Economy Germany was also taken under control by linking it to the American market. The euro was linked to the dollar, which makes it possible for the US Federal Reserve to raise the refinancing rate at any time and bring down the economy of Germany and the entire EU.

However, in recent decades, Berlin has gradually begun to get out of hand. This is evidenced by the way in which Chancellor Merkel defends the Nord Stream-2 project, despite the strong pressure from Washington and its European neighbors. The gas pipeline will increase the competitiveness and energy independence of the German economy, and will have a greater impact on neighboring countries. Half-jokingly in Europe they say that Angela Merkel is building the “Fourth Reich” on the basis of the European Union.

Who is against? Yes, that's all.

The United States absolutely does not need Germany to gain real sovereignty. This is absolutely unnecessary for the main competitors of Germany within the EU - France, Great Britain and Italy. The head of the Fifth Republic recently sharply opposed the construction of Nord Stream-2, which can be called a symbol of cooperation between Berlin and Moscow. Why Paris or London to strengthen the industrial power of Berlin? Against the Poles and the Balts, in which historical memory plays with respect to both Russia and Germany itself.

The most interesting question is whether they themselves need a union of Germany and the Russian Federation? Berlin needs our country as a source of resources and a sales market, and not the most basic one. But he is already getting resources, and fundamental problems, such as the status of Crimea and Sevastopol, will remain a stumbling block for political rapprochement.

And is an alliance really needed according to the formula “our resources plus their technologies” of Russia? Our country is the direct successor to the USSR, which a quarter century ago was a leading technological power, giving out more than a fifth of world GDP. Are we, the descendants of the “generation of titans”, who defeated the Third Reich and rebuilt the superpower from the ruins, today we can only think in terms of trading in irreplaceable resources?

In fact, Russia does not need any alliance with the Federal Republic of Germany as a raw materials appendage, since this means a rejection of its own development. She needs a project of national industrial industrialization and technological breakthrough. And relations with Germany should be mutually beneficial from the point of view of two sovereign states.

The union of Germany and Russia is beneficial to Germany and Russia. This is an axiom that has been validated for almost 200 years. There were no exceptions. The mere fact that such a union causes nervous tremor in almost all European capitals is already worth a lot.
I would say that we need the axis Berlin-Moscow-Beijing. But Beijing is solving its tasks, and therefore will not agree to such an alliance.
The axis Berlin-Moscow is needed and can be realized only in case of sovereignty of these capitals. Russia only recently began to emerge from the dictates of the Anglo-Saxons. Berlin is only at the beginning of the journey.
References to the economic power and self-sufficiency of the USSR warm the ear, but are not entirely correct. Even a gas pipeline to Europe had to be built according to the "gas-pipes" scheme. AvtoVAZ was built by Italians. And in the 30s, Stalin bought technology from Germany. And he paid with raw materials. And this is all the USSR. Even now, problems with Siemens turbines are causing nervous tremors.
So do not flatter yourself. The union of Russia and Germany is needed primarily in Russia and Germany. Moreover, it is still unknown to whom it is needed.
But such a union is possible with the political independence of Germany. Yes, Berlin from a high hill do not care who owns the Crimea. And what will happen to Ukraine. The main thing for them is to open the Russian market, lift sanctions, receive cheap gas and become the European gas hub. The latter is very close to execution.
"Red Fury of Germany" Sarah Wagenknecht:

... bad relations with Russia contradict the interests of Europe. “The United States has always been afraid of combining Russian resources and German technology - and they are doing it right.

The author correctly writes, I support.
Present-day Russia has not even reached the level of the RSFSR, so Putin, in his message to the Federal Assembly, has concentrated all his attention on the country's internal problems, including development of its economy and reindustrialization, which are solved extremely slowly.

Before Stalin, Russia was an agrarian country. There was nothing else to pay. And after it became an industrial power. Do not juggle the facts.

No fraud. The USSR also bought technology after industrialization. In addition to grain, oil was also supplied. Just like now. The gas pipeline and AvtoVAZ were built in the 70s. Why did you omit this? What technologies were bought during the period of developed socialism? The list is huge. Electronics, machine tools, engines, entire plants ...

Even now, problems with Siemens turbines are causing tremors.

But this claim is already against those who ruined Soviet industry and instead of it pulls pipes in all directions
