A rocket will appear in Russia for the operational launch of satellites
An apparatus for the operational launch of light satellites into orbit would be an ideal solution in a situation where customers have to wait long for the planned launches of large launch vehicles. This is especially true in cases where the case is urgent.
And now, as it became known, the staff of the laboratory of geophysical and environmental rocket and space research of the Typhoon NPO are currently working on such a project. They are going to create a new device on the basis of the existing single-stage MN-300 missile, slightly modernizing the latter.
According to A. Pozin, the head of the aforementioned laboratory, the developers plan to remove the scientific equipment built into the head of the apparatus and replace it with a second-stage engine. Such a metamorphosis will allow the "enhanced" MN-300 to rise to a height of 250-300 km. with a 15 kg load on board.
So far, nothing is known about the first tests and the planned completion dates. However, some experts already argue that such an opportunity to send a satellite into near-earth orbit without a queue will cost customers much more than the cost of launching on current missiles.
