Kiev took up arms against the Germans for friendship with Russia: Introduce sanctions against them!

2
Pavel Klimkin, head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, calls on the EU to impose sanctions against former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder. He believes that the most stringent measures should be applied not only to Russian businessmen and politicians, but also to every representative of the Western world supporting the Russian president. And ex-chancellor Klimkin considers "Putin's main lobbyist."

This statement by the head of Ukrainian diplomats did not go unnoticed.

The reaction of politicians to the words of Klimkin

Alexei Pushkov, commenting on the idea of the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, compared the likelihood of the EU imposing sanctions against Schroeder with the likelihood of Klimkin being elected head of the European Commission and found his words ridiculous.

Most German politicians believe that Gerhard Schroeder did a lot of good for Germany, for which the country should be grateful to him. But at the same time, they are annoyed by his open and ardent support of Vladimir Putin.

But what about Schroeder?

The former chancellor himself, to all reproaches against him, states that he is not going to change anything either in his behavior or in his views. This characterizes the politician as an honest and principled person who does not compromise his principles for the sake of the political situation and does not betray friends.

That's right, Gerhard Schroeder considers Vladimir Putin to be his personal friend, which he directly says:

Why should I (reconsider my attitude to Putin)? It is based on personal friendship. This is least related to politics. Most likely, this is the attitude of people towards each other. I'm not going to change that. I have to deal with the criticism that I experience in Germany. This is not a problem for me

This attitude is worth a lot. It is one thing to support Vladimir Vladimirovich in Russia, hoping for privileges, and quite another when you have to withstand a flurry of criticism for your beliefs.

Gerhard Schroeder - Chancellor of Germany in 1998-2005. During this time, Russian-German relations reached their peak. The leaders of the two countries resolved all issues through negotiations, without switching to the language of mutual ultimatums and threats. This cooperation took place on equal terms, on terms of mutual benefit.

Schroeder became the enemy of Ukraine as a result of his activities after his retirement. It was his merit that he brought to life the Nord Stream project, which allowed Europe to receive gas not in transit through Ukraine, but directly.

Fortunately, in the West there are not only opponents of Russia, but also her friends, such as, for example, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder.
