Syrian President Bashar al-Assad visited the forefront of the Syrian army in the East Guta region of Damascus, where there are fierce battles with terrorists from "opposition" groups. He met with members of the armed forces as well as civilians who managed to leave gang-controlled areas.

This visit of the head of state to the forefront is taking place against a background of very alarming reports: the Russian General Staff sees more and more signs of preparations by the United States and its allies for direct armed aggression against Damascus. And this - despite even strong warning from Moscowthat if the Russian military suffers, there will be an unconditional answer.
Colonel General Sergei Rudskoy, chief of the General Staff’s Main Operations Directorate, confirmed that a provocation is likely to result in the Syrian army being accused of using chemical weapons. It will serve as a pretext for delivering attacks on military installations and state institutions in Syria. For this, special groups have already been prepared in the area of Et-Tanf, where the Americans are training the militants of the "Syrian opposition". According to the General Staff, they have already been transferred to the city of Daraa in southern Syria (where the de-escalation zone operates). There, under the guise of humanitarian aid, components for the production of toxic substances and fuses camouflaged as packs of cigarettes were delivered. Another possible place for provocation is Idlib province.
At the same time, the Russian military noted:
Rudskoy asked a rhetorical question: who exactly are going to support the United States in this way? There is only one answer - the terrorists of Jebhat al-Nusra (an organization banned in the Russian Federation).
For his part, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, while in Kazakhstan, said that US special forces operate on Syrian territory. Moreover, Washington does not even deny this. “Without advertising,” said the Russian Foreign Minister, special forces from France and Britain are working.
