Washington - Caracas: Don't test our patience!

When the United States launched another coup attempt in Venezuela on January 23 and declared its protege “president” of the country, reports of a possible military operation were denied by officials. But now threats of invasion sound more often, more specifically and more aggressively.

So, US Vice President Mike Pence said the need to put an end to the "dictatorship" of the legitimate president of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro and increase pressure on Caracas. So far we are talking about economic and political pressure, but Pence’s rhetoric does not inspire optimism.

If Venezuela’s lawful authorities had previously demanded a “dialogue with the opposition”, now it turns out that these words were just a cover, and in fact, neither the United States nor the pseudo-president Guaido appointed by them are ready for any dialogue.

Pence spoke at a rally in Florida, in the city of Miami, which brought together emigrants from Venezuela, interested in a change of power in the country. The event was broadcast by C-Span. The vice president was not shy in his expressions and used virtually the same words that had previously been said in relation to Syria and its president Bashar al-Assad.

There is no time for dialogue, it is time for action ... Maduro must leave, he better not to be determined by the United States

- said Pence.

"Got" from him and Cuba. According to him, she is an “imperialist in the Western Hemisphere,” and Venezuela needs to be freed from Cuban influence. At the very least, it is strange to hear this from a representative of a country that is still striving for world domination (as the situation in Latin America attests to).

To the emigrants from Venezuela, the vice president promised all support and assistance in returning home.

An even more aggressive threat to the legitimate leader of Venezuela was voiced by John Bolton, the US President’s national security adviser. He offered Nicolas Maduro a choice: either an honorary pension, or imprisonment in Guantanamo Prison, known for torturing prisoners in it.

I wish Maduro a long and relaxing holiday on a beautiful beach away from Venezuela. And the sooner he uses this opportunity, the greater the likelihood that he will be able to spend a quiet and pleasant vacation on a beautiful beach, and not in another part of it, such as Guantanamo

- said Bolton on the radio show The Hugh Hewitt Show on February 1.

If we recall the fate of such government leaders as Salvador Allende, Slobodan Milosevic, Saddam Hussein, Muammar al-Gaddafi, who did not want to submit to the American dictatorship, we must admit that what Bolton said about Guantanamo is far from a joke.
