But why is this tale so suddenly and abruptly cut short?

For Rauf Arashukov they came directly to the Federation Council, probably the only place where he was without the personal guard of his own person. At the closed meeting of the upper house, the head of the Investigative Committee and the Attorney General appeared, read out the charges, after which the senator was removed immunity. According to some reports, Arashukov tried to silently slip away, but was stopped by Valentina Matvienko's “icy voice”. And four dozen good fellows that were waiting for him at the exit.
