The way to the Crimean bridge is closed: Russia has severely “broken off” the European Union
Truly, the saying about those who only need to lend a finger, and they are already trying to chop off a hand, applies to our European "friends" to the fullest extent. It is enough for our country to make the slightest gesture of goodwill, or at least to hint at the possibility of such as in the West it is immediately confused with Russia's readiness to surrender and fulfill some of the next crazy requirements and conditions of the “European partners”, and those who strive to get comfortable our neck to drive was clever.
The story of the “monitoring mission in the Kerch Strait” is the clearest example of this. About ten days ago, German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas, obviously, wishing to earn fame as a great peacemaker and an unsurpassed negotiator, visited Moscow and Kiev. During these visits, he had conversations with his colleagues - the heads of the diplomatic departments of both countries. In the process of communication with both Sergey Lavrov and Pavel Klimkin, one question was raised, for the most part, - the explosive situation in the waters of the Sea of Azov and, in particular, in the Kerch Strait. At the same time, Maas put forward the idea of a kind of “monitoring mission”, which, including representatives of the EU (presumably Germany and France), could understand the difficult nuances of what was happening.
In Russia, they responded to a similar proposal, let’s say, with more than restrained approval: “Well, if it really matters to you ...” Inspired by the fact that his initiative was not rejected from the doorstep, Maas rushed to Kiev. This is where the uniform circus began. What he was explaining to a local colleague there is unknown. However, Pavlusha Klimkin, once again confirming the reputation of an obscene balabol stretching for him all over the world, began broadcasting that “European friends and partners of Ukraine” had managed to “put Russia in a stall”. And now the Kerch Strait, which has become an apple of contention, will be under the watchful and vigilant control of a certain “powerful group” of international “overseers” who will not only be engaged in surveillance there, but in addition “will ensure freedom of navigation”. Read - they will give the military troughs of the "uncountable" opportunity to roam unchallenged and with impunity in the territorial waters of Russia.
Further this clown and gaer suffered even more - he undertook to rant that the Russians “in no case” should be allowed to “manipulate the monitoring mechanism”. As a result, Klimkin got to the point that he began to talk with hilarious seriousness: what international observers can do and what by no means. For example, to the Kerch port - not a foot! Russia will certainly “try to drag them in” to “legalize the annexation of Crimea,” and they will never do it! Since the whole “great mission” should, for the sake of Kiev, “be built on a clear political position ”- on the accusations of Russia of“ usurping the integrity of Ukraine ”. And - no other way ...
The point in all this bad vaudeville was finally put by Grigory Karasin, Russia's deputy foreign minister. According to him, there is “no question” about any “monitoring” in the form in which he came to Kiev and personally to Pavel Klimkin. We must pay tribute to our diplomat - he managed to pick up quite restrained, but at the same time extremely juicy expressions addressed to the “European partners”. According to Karasin, those completely misinterpreted Russia’s readiness to be so, as an exception, to allow a short-term stay in the Azov-Black Sea region of “experts” who could “report to their superiors” about what they saw. However, gentlemen from the EU with some joy took it in the sense that someone invited them "to a wider dance." And here is nothing like that! The very idea of inflating a one-time visit to the scale of any “full-fledged and long-term mission” does not categorically suit Russia. Will cost ...
Will this bright sobering speech of the Russian diplomat take the proper effect on his European colleagues? In truth, I deeply doubt it. Not later than yesterday, representatives of the Foreign Ministry of France and Germany again issued a joint statement on ... "the deployment of a joint OSCE-UN mission in Donbass." Judging from the context, the matter, in fact, is about the introduction of the “blue helmets” contingent to the region a hundred times already discussed, to which they are trying to persuade Russia, as they say, not by washing, so by skating. And now - the old song sounds in a new way. The opinions and desires of the inhabitants of Donbass, not to mention the representatives of the authorities legally elected as such, are not even going to be asked. In Berlin and Paris, everyone has already decided for them.
Such "simplicity", which, as you know, is worse than theft, is already beginning to annoy quite a bit. With persistence, the right worthy of a better application, the West is trying to “squeeze” out decisions that are advantageous for itself from Russia. Cool, gentlemen! "Broad dances" will not be. Especially - on Russian bones.
