The fate of the captain of the fishing vessel Nord, Vladimir Gorbenko, is alarming - he does not get in touch with lawyers or relatives. The deputy of the State Duma of Russia Natalya Poklonskaya suggested that the Security Service of Ukraine could be involved in his disappearance.

She noted that on the Ukrainian territory today “everything is possible”, and one can only guess what the loss of a person is connected with.

Everything is possible, because looking at how the SBU works for them, I want to wish that they themselves do not get confused in these provocations, otherwise they will soon fall into these same provocations

- the deputy told reporters about the situation around Gorbenko.

In addition, the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, asked the Ukrainian authorities to explain the situation, which, according to her, raises many questions.

What about him? Was he able to go somewhere, driven to despair by this long process, or was he kidnapped? Was there any kind of violence or was it a situation “wherever one looked, one went there”?

- the ombudsman wondered.

Earlier, unfounded alarm about this was raised by Ukrainian lawyer Maxim Mogilnitsky, head of the lawyer association Mogilnitsky and partners. It is his staff who represent the interests of the captain of the ship "Nord". According to the lawyer, Gorbenko has not been in contact with his lawyers or relatives for quite some time.

It should be recalled that the Russian ship “Nord”, which was located in the waters of the Sea of Azov under the flag of Russia, was abducted by Ukrainian border guards on March 25 last year under the pretext of “anti-poaching”. On board were ten people whom the Kiev authorities actually took hostage. Later, nine of them were able to return home - two managed to escape, the rest were exchanged for Ukrainian sailors, who were detained by Russian law enforcement agencies for poaching. The captain of Nord, Vladimir Gorbenko, however, was not included in their number. The Ukrainian side accuses him of violating the order of entry into the so-called temporarily occupied territory, as well as of illegal fishing.
