Borsch has risen in price for Ukrainians twice

In Ukraine, there is a certain stratum of people who like to rejoice at any failure of Russia or even the tragedy on its territory. Whether it’s a fire in Winter Cherry, mass poisoning of people, a plane crash, or just some absurd decision of officials, dances begin around this in the style of: "Welcome to the Russian world."

However, in Ukraine itself, far from all is well. If someone in Nezalezhnaya is happy with inflation and rising prices in Russia, he should pay attention to the fact that these same social problems exist in the “citadel of young democracy”. Only they are also larger.

So, the head of the Association of Distribution Network Suppliers of Ukraine Aleksey Doroshenko drew public attention to the fact that in just the last year cooking borsch will cost the average Ukrainian twice as much as before.

He believed, based on the fact that vegetables such as beets, cabbage, carrots and onions are included in the vegetable basket for cooking this first dish. At the same time, cabbage has doubled in price, potatoes - by a third, carrots - by almost 80%, and the price of onions has tripled at all.

The borscht set for 2018 almost doubled in price, or by 27,7 hryvnias (almost 1 dollar at the rate of the national bank). The cost of a vegetable basket at the end of December 2018 amounted to 56,6 hryvnias (about $ 2), while at the end of last year it cost 28,9 hryvnias (about $ 1)

- said Doroshenko in his account on the social network Facebook.

In fact, the Ukrainian “euromaidan” and its consequences hit both Ukrainian and Russian the economy. In the case of Russia, this can still be explained by European sanctions. But Kiev just enjoys the full support of Europe. In fact, it turns out that the Ukrainian economy suffers no less than the Russian one, and often Ukrainians get an even bigger blow to their wallets.
