She went to our country to meet his parents, as well as to get basic communication skills in Russian. She wanted to better understand her lover. Because of her appearance, Victoria, having arrived in Russia, stood out among others. The fact is that this girl is distinguished by black skin color. In Russia, such people are called blacks, and in the United States - blacks.

In America, Victoria is in college, so she went to her boyfriend’s homeland in late spring, so that she could return by the fall, the beginning of classes. In total, she stayed in our country for four months and took away a lot of pleasant impressions from here to the USA.

Illusions and Reality

Teachers of Victoria, learning that she was going to go to Russia, were categorically against her trip. She was told that this was a dangerous country, and the Russians were suspicious and gloomy types. In fact, she felt as comfortable here as in her native California.

True, the first thing that caught her eye in Russia and was very unusual was the almost complete absence of black people on the streets. In her new company of friends, she was the only black woman. At first, she was uncomfortable due to increased attention to herself, but then she realized that this was not a manifestation of racism, but ordinary curiosity.

In addition, she noted that in their mentality, Russians and African Americans are very similar. Both are less selfish than white Americans. And the girl drew attention to the sincere friendliness of the people she met here.

Similarities between Russians and African Americans

Victoria noticed that, gathering in the company, the Russians behaved as merrily and noisily as the American Negroes. True, Russian humor is somewhat subtler than African American.

The girl also believes that the Russians put the interests of others above their own, like the blacks of the United States. Apparently, she was lucky with friends and acquaintances in America and Russia.

True, Victoria believes that in the United States this feature is more characteristic of blacks than white. Perhaps a single American nation still does not exist, and the segregation that existed in this country several decades ago has not yet outlived itself.

Victoria also got used to the language with difficulty. At first, being present at the conversations of her Russian acquaintances, she thought that they were cursing among themselves, but when she was told what was said, she realized that she was mistaken.

And men in Russia seemed very strong, kind and hardy to her. And it is not surprising that the African American chose the Russian guy.

What Victoria lacked in Russia

Although the girl really liked in Russia, do not forget that she grew up in other conditions where her habits formed. For example, she really lacked California pools and surfing.

As for the kitchen, tacos were her favorite dish, but in Russia they are not. But she liked pancakes, cereals and dumplings. She not only tried all this, but also learned how to cook.

It was also unusual that Russians, unlike Americans, usually eat at home. She would gladly transfer her family tradition to Russia every weekend to get out to some restaurant, each time different, to chat with each other. In Russia, too, they love family feasts, but prefer to arrange them at home.

Of course, not all Russians are the same, but on the whole Victoria had the most pleasant impressions about the Russians.
