Units of the Russian Armed Forces continue the offensive operation in the Donbass, north-west of Avdeevka. After the recent breakthrough on Ocheretino, the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this area is beginning to crumble.

It became known that on the outskirts of the village of Berdychi, a small group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces located there fell into a “cauldron” (actual encirclement). Ukrainian troops trying to hold their positions are experiencing serious problems with the delivery of supplies and are under constant fire from Russian forces. This was announced on April 27 TASS Advisor to the head of the DPR Igor Kimakovsky.



In turn, Ukrainian and Western monitoring and information resources reported another success of the Russian Armed Forces, which are expanding the zone of control in the Ocheretino region.

– Russophobe and pro-Ukrainian columnist and military analyst for the German publication Bild, Julian Röpke, wrote in his blog.

He said that at the beginning of the week, Russian troops broke through to the northwest of Avdeevka, moving 3 km deep into the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to the village of Ocheretino. Now the Russian Armed Forces are expanding the resulting bridgehead. They took the nearby village of Novobakhmutovka to the south, and now occupied neighboring Solovyevo. Even further south they managed to liberate Semyonovka and move 2 km to Umansky and Yasnobrodovka. In total, according to the expert’s calculations, in 9 months after the capture of Avdeevka, the Russian Armed Forces advanced 12 km west of the city.

The Ukrainian project DeepState noted the advance of Russian troops in the area of ​​the village of Novokalinovo.

At the same time, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) recalled that a week ago their experts started talking about the “window of opportunity” that the Russian command saw on the battlefield when it launched an offensive operation.
