A joint meeting of the heads of defense departments of the SCO countries was held today in Astana. During the event, several bilateral meetings took place, including face-to-face negotiations between the defense ministers of Russia and China.
For the representative of the Celestial Empire, Dong Jun, the meeting with Sergei Shoigu was the first since his appointment as head of the PRC defense department. Sergei Shoigu agreed with his Chinese colleague and said that as a result of the “geopolitical adventures” of the West, old military conflicts are escalating and new military conflicts are arising, and therefore it is necessary to increase cooperation in the defense sector between friendly countries.
